I have bought preplayed but never sold to them, do they give you reasonable rates or is it like Cash Converters?
I have some Xbox games I want to sell.

They don't give you money, only store credits or discounts towards another game. I think the most I ever got was about R230, and that was for a game that was released about two weeks earlier.

Yeah I looked that up after I made the thread, hmm maybe I'm better off just selling the games.

terrible rate of in store credit. They get all shitty about condition as well. I never forget I bought a second hand game there once and took it back to trade in a while later and they said they couldn't take it because it was too scratched. Thing is, I bought it like that. It played perfectly. I am completely neurotic with my game manuals and disks. My games never get scratched. They were having none of it.

They have no benchmark though - it's as if it's up to the mood and attitude of the person you're dealing with.
One day a small scratch is fine - another day, it's not.

Not to mention the condition of the pre-played games that they're selling is terrible. I've had to turn back from the counter a couple of times after being shown the condition of the disc that I wanted to buy. How the heck they accepted the disc from the seller in the first place is beyond me.

Cause parents will buy their child the game without checking so they will sell it eventually, so they may as well make a quick buck out of it.

@ pooky, I would suggest selling it, go check out xbox360.co.za and or Gumtree for your area you will inevitably get a better sell price than going through any other resell option like BT and or Cash converters.

Only issue with selling that way is delivery but the risk can be reduced if the person pays for delivery in the initial costing. Courier services charge something like 40 to 60 bucks for door to door.

Would www.carbonite.co.za also work for selling games?

I find that A.W.X has decent rates. The best place is still gumtree - as long as you're vigilant and meet in a public place.

I bought God of War Ascension at Btgames when it was on special,I asked then how much they would give me if I traded it in,they said R200,I thought "what the.....no ways". That's not even half of what I paid for it.
I'd rather then sell it to someone myself.

They can still swap it with an identical box and you wouldnt know the difference so I wouldn't use gumtree.

Lots of cellphone scams happen that way and I am sure it will happen with other things.

BT has now gone such shit that a brand new PS3 game, still sealed, is having them offer R100 for it ....... lol, yeah right fucktards.

Wow, that's pretty terrible. A few years back I was actually surprised at how much they're willing to offer for second hand console games. I traded in a bunch of ancient PSP games in 2009 and got R70 on one that released almost alongside the PSP.

If they offered me R100 for a brand new game I would tell them to shove it.

Ye, I looked at the guy for about a minute and then laughed at him and then told him he can shove that offer up his bosses ass. Imbecile place of note.
