Intel Haswell CPU review roundup

Performance per watt and power savings is great and all..... but overclocking and actual performance would be nice as well.

I can't pretend to be blown away with Haswell. If I want onboard graphics I'll rather get AMD. If I want single core performance my bang-for-buck is going to be far better with a 2500k/3570k.

At this point we can't have both. Its an either/or situation and even with the lack of overclocking abilities to heights we previously enjoyed. As far as performance goes, the biggest gains are going to be found in laptops and dockable tablets. Intel hasn't been paying the desktop too much attention ever since the Centrino laptop chips came out.

I think they're making the right decisions strategically - laptops and dockables are where it's going to be at - but I personally can't give two tosses for it. Unless my new job orders me a Haswell laptop when I start in July :D
