Wii U on special for R1,000

I was also in the shops yesterday and there appears to be a general shortage of Wii-U consoles. The toy store at Centurion lifestyle had also sold out all of their consoles at R1500 a pop. So if you are in the market for the Wii-U it looks like now is the time.

I hope the publishers also notice how important price is to get a sale, and keep that in mind especially for game prices.

I feel elated that I got a premium one and have a great sense of achievement, even though I didn't have to get up and wait so early.

Now, does anyone know how big this update is?

I'm glad they gave it to you. I also made a reservation yesterday (physically went to the CNA and saw them put the sticker with my name on the box) but they sold the unit to someone else today so apparently the reservation meant nothing.

1-2Gig now probably. Don't know if newly shipped Wii U's come with new update or not.

I only have Nintendoland and that apparently is really nice multiplayer, so I have ordered a Wiimote and Nunchuck... That's the only game I have played so far, I really want Super Mario Bros, but don't have cash at the moment.

I think what nintendo have included in terms of options for developers is awesome and would love to see games that take full advantage of the touch screen controller.

Off tv play is pretty cool. I can sit in my bed and play Wii games on the gamepad while the tv is off downstairs.

My CNA said when they get stock of the Wii U they will keep one aside for me for R1000 going to wait and see if they mean it :p
