Since when? Nintendo's Wii-U is the only console that truly offers backwards compatibility. PS4 'might' be able to run 'some' PS3 games through a 'streaming' service. I wouldn't put much faith in that, not if you consider the massive differences in architecture between the cell processor and the new x86 architecture.

Yeah, the PS4 won't be able to to play PS3 games. What you might find later on is that you'll be able to download PS3 games via the Playstation Store, like you can now with certain PS2 games for PS3, but that'll take a while.

I'm afraid third world countries would barely make a dent in their sales. There may be a lot of people, but there isn't a lot of disposable income.

Ye, it seems they are a bunch of greedy tools now. Its all about the extra buck. The arrogance in this guy's tone is a clear indication that MS doesn't care about the average consumer. They catering to leach off a specific market and aren't going to bother satisfying any other.

Remember when game devs use to release patches with free content and then suddenly that same content became a "DLC"
Same thing with blizzard, they use to be an awesome company with the end user in mind, then they released diablo 3 and the game was purely designed as pay2win...

Im not particularly fond of this always online thing but it became really clear to me in the new Forza presentation. Forza slowly but surely collects everybodies driving data and implements that into the AI and car set ups. So when you are playing single player mode it feels like you're racing against real people. That is actually incredible.

But u dont need to be always on for that, data can be saved and uploaded when internet is available. Isnt a strong enough argument to justify always on
Forza 5 did look great, to me the whole presentation was great. They focused on games and showed some incredible trailers.
They have unfortunately become the Sony of this generation thinking that us, the consumers, will just rush out and buy the console irrespective of price and all the other restrictions.
Sidenote: No storefront or Auction House in Forza 5.

its not always on ! it needs to connect once every 24 hours (that is not always ON)
Or once every hour depending on your config. Even so 24hours is too often. I could have lived with 2 weeks maybe like Steam's offline mode.

Doesn't it bother you that they are enforcing an unnecessary requirement based on the assumption that you are a thief? If it was once every two weeks or even once a week then I think I'd be more forgiving. But every day? Why? Why is that necessary? I cannot think of one example of why that is absolutely necessary unless you are working on the assumption that your customers are criminals.
