Xbox One and the Death of Ownership

I dunno a console for me is a "poor mans PC", basically get all the power that is needed for gaming at a fraction of the cost but with all the limitations.

But we seeing as the bigger companies are putting all these limitations on us, you getting smaller indie companies making new consoles and taking us back to the way we use to play. I mean look at steam and how they working on a way to sell 2nd games, working towards the consumer instead of away.

I remember a time quite a few years ago, when AAA games were so cheap that u would go to the flea market and it was cheaper to buy the original then the copy. Make it cheap enough to buy games and there wont be a need to swap/pirate games

Oh and pls dont get upset that i called a console a poor mans PC, its just an example

I wouldn't say that about the next gen consoles. From all the info available, I'd say the PS4 pretty much equals the performance of an R8k PC.

An 8k PC is pretty close to a poor man's PC :) Remember also that that same hardware will have to power the consoles for the next 5-10 years. An 8k PC in the next 5-10 years will be a different beast.

The real benefit is that u pay that R8k once and wont need to "upgrade" till the next console launch. Where as u spend that amount on a PC and inside 3 years u would probably need to upgrade again.

My PC is 3 years old and I'm not sure that I will need to upgrade within the next 3 years either. The market has slowed down a great deal. But even if I were to upgrade, I could buy components at a fraction of the price. Can't do that on a console.
