The War Z renamed Infestation: Survivor Stories

I've been playing it this week and it's actually not that bad. It's way more polished than the DayZ mod. Should tide me over until the DayZ standalone arrives.
 
Just to note, they didn't rename because of DayZ , but actually because they were going to get sued by the movie studios behind the "World War Z" franchise. There is already an iOS game for the movie coming out which most likely would confuse people who's aware of the WarZ debacle.

The idiots never bothered to trademark their game name, and only after launch tried to trademark, but the movie studio trademarked already by then.

Nah. it's still a shameless DayZ ripoff and I'd go so far as to say it's somewhat of a scam (screenshots on store page not matching the actual game, etc), but it's actually surprisingly fun for what it is. It was gifted to me, but to be honest I actually wouldn't have minded paying $15 for it.
 
Bloody knew it. Knew it all along. Even made a bet last year. These basterds are nothing more than criminals.

After all the drama surrounding the war z game, and people being put off from it due to all the bad press ( a lot of people actually bought the game because of the bad press, just to see if the game is really shit as everybody made it out to be ) , they change the name to get new suckers to buy the game.

This is nothing short of criminal behavior.

Did they update the game at least? I mean I watched TB's video about it and boy oh boy it was shit.

Did you even read the article? Jesus. It states the reason for the name change in the article. They changed the name because they were being sued by the World War Z.

“This change has come about primarily as a result of some confusion and trademark issues with a similarly titled property,” said a message on the game’s official forums.

Yeah, it's a lot improved from the TotalBiscuit video. It's relatively bug-free and they seem to have gotten the hacking problem under control since they implemented punkbuster. Otherwise, most of the complaints from release still seems to be there. Ammo is as scarce as chicken tits in order to coerce you into buying it on the store and there's a ridiculous respawn timer on characters when they die.

Looks like you are the one who needs to read before commenting. I've been following the story since the game came out, looks like you haven't.

Oh and I'd gladly neg you back, but alas unlike you I don't bother with such trivial bs.

lolwut, Maybe the way I stated it was not correct, but let me explain something to you.

Firstly , when picking a name for a game, you have to trademark it, yes? You go and search the USPTO to see if anyone filed a similar/same trademark. They damn well knew that they would be forced to change the name War Z some time after filing the trademark, seeing as how paramount had their world war z for a few years already. And now they make as if they are surprised that they have to change the name of their game. Their plan is pretty obvious, and if you don't find this whole name change affair shady I don't know what else to say. Sergey Titov is a clever man, he's not a dumb. Just look at the deal he made with big rigs racing.
