Google console in development: report

It would actually have need nicer if google just backed Ouya as their console of choice.

Don't agree backing it wouldn't have changed the specs. I hope if google makes a console it at least has similar specs to the current generation.

If google backed them then they might have been able to bring out version 2 end of this year or next year with more competitive specs.
1st one is just so that people get to know them and BAM! the second one will mind control us all.

Their console would be an Adnroid based console, so yeah... we have one of those.....

They will probably end up removing the focus from the Ouyuyuuyaawu if they do offer one...

I can't imagine why I would want this. There are plenty of Android consoles already and they're all a bit half-baked. All you have to do is literally stuff a tablet chipset into a black box and load it with AOKP. But the games 99% are developed for a touchscreen, and they have to be shoehorned for a controller. Google can't even get native tablet apps, good luck with getting decent console game ports.

Remember when Google released the Nexus 7 and that weird ball called a Nexus Q?

Well, the Q as a cloud-based media player was a failure, BUT, tack on a gaming capability and more I/O ports, and you'll have possibly a really cool device that connects directly to the Google Playstore and cloud services such as Drive, Gmail, G+ and Hangouts. Necessary? Nope. But is it worth doing it cause it's cool? YES!

quick question and sorry if it seems stupid, have Samsung release a console, and if not why not?

No they haven't and I can only think it would be about as pointless as this rumoured console.

I agree and disagree, Samsung as far as I can tell have made huge strides in the technology game and I recently got to try out their game table. I agree in that the current consoles (Sony, Microsoft, etc) are very firmly entrenched, but I cant help wonder if they did release a console, that it would be a game changer - excuse the pun

sorry just bought the smart tv and loving it
