Turn 10 Studios' Dan Greenawalt confirmed that Forza Motorsport 5 brings quite a few changes to the core recipe of the racing franchise by removing the weather and night races, while introducing a new Storefront to replace the Auction House.

Forza Motorsport games delivered not just great racing simulation experiences, but also allowed players to create all sorts of customized liveries and paint schemes, which could then be sold to others in the game.

Forza Motorsport 5 for the Xbox One, however, changes this mechanic, according to Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt, via NeoGAF.

Apparently, the game will completely remove dynamic weather and night races, while replacing the Auction House with a modified Storefront that rewards those who make liveries depending on how often they're used by other players.

As such, all community liveries will be free to buy and there will even be a system that learns what combinations players like and recommends them similar things.

No other concrete details are known, so Forza fans should expect to hear more until the game's launch alongside the Xbox One in November.

I think I'm surprised.

Never played Forza, yet.

Isn't Forza 5 coming to next-gen as well? Or does the developer just not want to implement such effects as a result of time and budget constraints?

Forza 5 is going to be the flagship next gen game for Xbox. It's a real shame about the weather and night racing not being there.

I wonder if they are going to give the same "our lighting engine can't handle it" excuse this time...

i think its the 2 year timeframe thats limiting, they already mentioned that it takes 6 months to model a car for the game

So if it takes the whole team 6 months to model 1 car, and the game has been in development for 2 years, Forza 5 will have 4 awesomely modelled cars only. And if it takes one person 6 months, why are they slave-driving their poor work force like that? I think their full of it.

It's a shame really, because I think that Gran Turismo 5 has night racing...

What would the different be between Forza and Gran Turismo?

What does the one franchise offer that the other does not?
