What movie did you last watch thread.

I watched Django Unchained. I must say that out of all the Tarantino films I've seen, I like this one. And it didn't take me long to like it either. Kill Bill (vol 1 & 2) took a while, and a few viewings, to grow on me, and the same could be said for Inglorious Basterds. Of course, Christoph Waltz didn't disappoint with his performance.

Mac and Devin go to High School. Terrible acting and a terrible movie in general. Not sure why I even chose to watch it:confused:

The Alamo (2004)

One of my favourites. I've watched it a good couple of times over the years and it is gripping every time. Hard to believe that a film like this was one of the biggest box office "bombs" ever.

It does get criticised for being very slow to get to the battle but I don't think that is a bad thing. The story up to that point is very good and the build up does set it apart from other war dramas.

Django Unchained

8/10

Enjoyed it for what it's worth.

I liked the conversations between characters. The acting wasn't too bad either.
Though, I do feel more was shown than I felt comfortable witnessing.

Some scenes in the movie had me questioning them every now and again...
"How did she?" ... "Wasn't he?" ... "Didn't that?"

When that chick in the doorway was shot by Django atop the staircase; why did she fly back?
Most people shot were just brought to their knees or would fall to the floor - she flew backwards!

Excessive usage of the word "nigger" - enough to annoy me. Hell - even I wanted to shoot some of the folk using "nigger" so much.
Now - many would argue

But, Vamp, you listen to rap pretty much everyday, and there is also excessive usage of the word "nigga". Well, now you see, there's a difference:

In rap music, the term "nigga"is used to describe a friend or foe, used as a remark, not always necessarily as a racial remark, and many times used as an insult toward another black (dark-skinned) male; in the movie - the word "nigger" is used to racially insult a dark-skinned male.

Sorry, felt the need to add that

Lastly - in the end house goes 'boom!', Jamie Foxx (practically in front of the house) walks away completely unscathed from the blast of the exploding house.

Monster University 3D. 7/10.
Nothing special as far as 3D effects go, but it is an enjoyable story that teaches a very unusual lesson (for a Hollywood cartoon): You can "believe" and "wish" for something all you want, but if you don't work hard you can forget about it.

I watched Adventureland

It was billed as a comedy and it really is more of a drama - not what I was looking for on a Sunday morning. Not that this movie is bad, just it isn't good - very forgettable and not worth a rewatch - which is very important to me.

yes it was very disappointing, the plank ruined it for me mostly

You talking about Kristen Stewart - Inansity will probably flame me again but I think she is pretty (in a girl next door type of way) but that movie didn't fail because of her alone, RR was just in the movie for face time, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig were underused and they have great comic backgrounds with SNL and that cheerleader girl was also a bit strange.

Last movie I watched at the cinema was Great Gatsby then before that IM3 - can't even remember before that though.

Planning on watching MoS pretty soon - as long as it isn't 3D - I hate that 3d gimmick
