All signs point to Steam Summer Sale launching tomorrow

This problem is easily solved once you start working. With a bit of discipline you can build up a bit of a buffer easily - then when you're low on cash you just shuffle some money around & try to keep expenses to a minimum for the rest of the month.

Haha, I am working - been employed full-time since beginning of 2009. It's just monthly expenses that eat away the cash (bills, levies, premiums, vehicle finance). Just been a rough few months for us as a family but there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not too worried about the sale though - I've built up quite a sufficient backlog to keep me busy for a long while.

Also:

I just want skyrim at 50%-75% off and I will buy no other games. Promise. Really. I swear. Believe me when I say it. The Truth. As I stand here today...\

***Edit

I should start around 7:00 PM Local time for us.

I wonder what the chances are of the new Civ V expansion getting a special - since it's officially launching on the 12th.

Probably zero :(

If they're having tomb raider on sale I'd buy it In a heart beat :D also need to get my hands on that stronghold complete thingy. I honestly can't buy anymore shit! I have games I bought in 2009 I haven't even touched yet

It depends on the publisher. But they don't usually discount such new releases. The banner even sometimes says, excluding items x, y, z.

I also assume not, maybe there will be deals for the previous expansion though.

Yep - but I already have that. I tend not to wait when Civ related stuff pop into my radar. So I will probably end up buying it regardless, only to kick myself 3 weeks later when it does go on special.

Also - I think Glordit's flowchart is too complicated, so I'm going to simplify it a bit.

- Will try Deponia (I've heard things about this game... good I think)
I might consider Inversion and Dishonoured if I get it REALLY cheap, but the fact that Dishonoured is First Person, makes the chances big that I won't like it so it will have to be almost free for me to get it.

Can't really think of anything else.

Deponia was okay if you like point and click, I enjoyed the humor.

I recently picked up Dishonoured and it was brilliant,im not into fps but it doesn't play like a shooter per se.

FYI:if it doesn't go on sale you can get it from dion wired for R100.

I didn't enjoy Dishonored but I see tons of people who do. I can't even tell you why I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't something specific. It just didn't grab me. In fact I felt disconnected from the world the whole time.

As for the Steam specials.... I'm going to try super hard not to buy anything. There are a couple of games that I really want but I would like to clean up my backlog a bit first. :)

Well its 10% off if you pre-order it if that counts.

I've been on steam for a year now and kind of missed the summer sale last time. So, I have been waiting all year for this:cool:.

I kind of wish they would bring back the treasure hunts like they had in the older sales. Some of those were actually a lot of fun to do.
