Dota 2

Raidcall Season 3 was crazy last night:eek:

Mouz knocked out Dignitas then proceeded to knock Alliance out convincingly 2 games to 0 (FATA was on fire:D), then Fnatic tried to put a fight against Na'Vi, but they were too strong (Dendi was equally on fire:rolleyes:).

So next week's Final is Mouz vs. Na'Vi, it's going to be epic.

Check out the international fantasy challenge, you can draft you own teams and your stats update as live matches are played. Its frikken boss.

Does anybody Know how the Dota 2 Matchmaking system works I don't understand how I get matched with people that have 50 or less wins and have a skill level of a dog compared to me who has 700 wins and a positive wins/loss ratio could anyone please explain?

I would assume they they have to get ranked so the game automatically places them against people of different skill levels, to determine their current skill level?

the longer you search for a match, the broader the search range gets. unbalanced matches might be results of a broad search range. either change to a better populated server (in case you are playing at odd hours) or simply reset the search to restart at a finer search range.

the longer you wait for a match to be found the wider the search range becomes and the more unbalanced the match will be. The match making system tries to match you with people who have the same amount of wins as you. If you keep winning you get put into the high skill bracket and then very high. There you get matched with others who have a similar wins score but have also been winning a lot. Obviously if you start losing again you will drop down to normal again.

It's not based on wins... You can have 60 wins and be on page 1 top live games, considering u performed well with said hero and stomped. You can have 1000 wins and 1000 losses and still be in a "low-ish" bracket, but yeah, the longer it takes to search for a game, the wider the skill range is searched. I'm not sure about the losing part or how exactly it works, but i've been losing alot lately and dropped a full 0.5% in win rate, considering i have lik 1700 games played, it's alot of losses lately T_T, but i'm still in the same kind of mmr bracket. So it's weird :D? (Just think it's not juuuuust based on wins and losses, just my food for thought)

Damn, I thought my 800 hours of game time was excessive. Don't u have a job:p?

I must say it's the only game ever that has kept me hooked for so long

I think we have just been playing for a lot longer than you , I know Iv'e been playing just about since the beginning of the beta so I probably play less than you yet still have double your games played its just the amount of time we've been in the beta compared to you.
