Mweb Offering - ADSL Lite

Hi all,


I work as an account manager within Mweb's Business division, and while most products I offer are aimed at Business customers, we do have a couple of products that I believe would be suitable for our forum members. So I asked James if I could post this on the Forum and see the kind of response I get.

Please note: that I am not posting this as Mweb, but as a gamer who found a product that works for me, having said that should any of you decide to go with this product through me, it does help my sales (and to be totally honest, I need the sales)

ADSL Lite –
Uncapped Shaped ADSL Lite Data only All Inclusive (ADSL Line)
1Mbps (up to) R 297 p/m R 437 p/m
2Mbps (up to) R 659 p/m R 889 p/m
4Mbps (up to) R 1 129 p/m R 1 489 p/m
10Mbps (up to) R 1 999 p/m R 2 359 p/m
All prices incl. VAT

MWEB Business Uncapped ADSL Lite users will also experience unthrottled, uncapped data downloads and uploads, and will receive a business-class router as part of the package. What they won’t get – which users of our high-end business ADSL solution do is static IP addresses.

In addition, the product will shape the line prioritising business traffic during office hours. However, major differences should only be noticeable during times of congestion or outage.

There is no acceptable usage policy on our business class products.

There is also a much lower contention ratio than our home products which means improved latency making it better for gamers

I forgot to add that because this is a business product, it has international redundancy, therefore no downtimes
 
No static IPs, shaping during office hours - for that price, this idea isn't going to work IMO. What makes it different from the R899 option ( the premium uncapped ), except for international redundancy (which you would only need with MWEB...)?

you're right there is the 899 premium uncapped, and besides the redundancy their is little diference except for the contention ratio, as a business product it has a much lower contention ratio, which means improved latency, I'm not saying it's perfect. Perfect would be unlimited, uncapped, unthrottled, unshaped fibre at R100 per month, but that's not going to happen.

I wanted to bring this product to the forums attention, because my gaming experiences have been much better on it than they were on the home products,
