Horrible Experience at Rebel Tech

Are you the guy who went overseas and then got into an accident? I know that then too people complained about RebelTech which is sad because when you are there you give people proper service. In my opinion your staff is just not good enough when you are not there to supervise them.

Yip, that was me (unfortunately). The staff members I had during the Dec/Jan period no longer work for me because of the service that I read about when I got back. Some people can't handle responsibility.

Now that I've had a chance to sleep on it I am a alot more chilled about the situation.
I must say the timely response and apology do go a long way. I appreciate it when an owner takes the time to say that someone has messed up.

We can discuss the issue further when I take collection today.

For the guys on the forum, I feel that it is important for me to say that Rebel Tech really does have fantastic prices. Coz of the nature of my real world job I tend to do excessive amounts of research before buying anything so I can confidently say I saved 10-15% working with Rebel Tech.

I hope that my experience is an isolated one but one that can be learned from. I really do hope your company improves and continues to be successful.

I stand by what I said - no matter what has been done to sort this issue out now - the issue should not have developed. I still feel very bad about this experience as I see this as a major dent in my companies reputation. Having great pricing doesn't mean we can have poor service. This is something I try to convey to my staff (I think it is time for a refresher course).

I do hope this was an isolated issue and that you might continue to use Rebel Tech with any future IT purchases.
 
The problem I now have is: never having dealt with RebelTech, and after reading this. Even with the apology I probably never will deal with them. I will rather pay 10% more and get service!

I deal with Rebeltech on a daily basis and I actually became friends with the owner because of the way they do business.
I'm sorry that this happened to you Cobalt and I know that it won't happen again. Rune will make sure of that.

I think I have quite a good reputation on the forum and I feel like my opinion should count for something because I deal with this stuff on a daily basis. I will gladly vouch for Rune and Rebeltech and the way they do business, I know this bothers him a lot (We spoke about it at 11:30 PM and he was genuinely upset) Things will be back on track asap.

I deal with a lot of suppliers and resellers on a daily basis and Rebeltech is right at the top of my list.
Don't let 1 bad experience put you off, knowing Rune it won't ever happen again.

Nah, I've dealt with Rebeltech before and they are great. This is an isolated incident. Besides, you can now contact the owner directly and he's an awesome guy. His staff let him down and I'm sure he will do something about it.

Ja, as I said before, I have been recommended them a few times, so I'm sure that this is just an isolated incident and considering the publicity it's getting on this forum and the owner's response, I 'd say that it's unlikely to happen again soon.

I am pretty sure from the majority of the responses that the opinion of Rebel-Tech has not been tainted, but people will more than likely be more cautious when using them.

Remain active on the forum Rune, post in our hardware section and become a contributing member ( if time allows ) to MyG. Once people get to know you ( As Joker does ) this will all blow over.

Firstly, I would say that we have become good friends.

On the issue, you know I take all issues to heart and I sort them out quickly and professionally. It is difficult to please all customers as everyone is unique - however, Cobalt was not a difficult customer nor did he have unreasonable requests. It is for this reason why I was shocked at the level of service he received from Rebel Tech.

I will make sure this doesn't happen again.

Nice response from RebelTech. I have yet to use them myself, but I have spotted something I want and they are the cheapest offer online - just saving my pennies!

The only reason I haven't used them yet is because they don't accept credit cards. It's more of a convenience thing than anything else.

I bought my complete pc thru Rebeltech last year and I had absolutely AWESOME service fom Rune and his staff. From ordering, chatting over the phone about better parts to swop on the order, them assembling my pc at no charge (and my thermaltake macho being a b*tch to install), and couriering it to Amanzimtoti.

I will NOT use anybody else than Rebeltech for future purchases.

I bought my complete pc thru Rebeltech last year and I had absolutely AWESOME service fom Rune and his staff. From ordering, chatting over the phone about better parts to swop on the order, them assembling my pc at no charge (and my thermaltake macho being a b*tch to install), and couriering it to Amanzimtoti.

I will NOT use anybody else than Rebeltech for future purchases.

Have bought my last 2 or 3 PCs through Rebel Tech so I'll also vouch for them that this was an isolated incident :)
 
I did an order with them on Thursday and I am not so impressed with their customer service at this point. Waiting on a motherboard from their suppliers. Getting told one thing in the morning and now something different. We will see what happens.

I must be honest - I am taken back by your comment on this thread and feel that your comment was unjustified and hasty.

You placed an order of Thursday and payment was received, on Friday, (via EMAIL).

As per our website (http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php?main_page=shippinginfo)

Items are usually ready for collection between one (1) and two (2) working day(s), depending on stock levels. You will be notified via email when to collect.

Since your payment was on received on Friday, we will only start to receive the stock on Monday/Tuesday. However, on Friday I went to collect as much stock as my car could take.

This morning you spoke to Kayleigh who advised that the only two items were missing from your order, namely the CPU and the MB. She also mentioned that we are expecting delivery late this afternoon but would notify you. At around 12PM, you spoke to Alex who informed you that the only item missing was the MB (as the CPU had arrived) and also informed you that orders are normally ready between 24/48hours after payment has been received. He also informed you that he was going to follow up with our supplier to find out where the MB was. So yes, you were told one thing this morning and then another later during the day. I, also, feel that the staff at Rebel Tech are keeping you in the loop as Alex later called you to explain that we won’t be receiving the MB to and to offer you free delivery should you wish to have it couriered.

However, in light of the comment and our collection policy, I will personally make sure that your order is ready for collection by tomorrow (23/07) 1PM.

I took a chance and called on Friday because I had a break in my schedule and I was told that everything was at your office but the motherboard. Then this morning I was told that the motherboard and the processor were not in. Don't know what happened but between Friday and Monday but the processor got lost I guess. Then I was told later today that the only thing missing now was the motherboard.

Can you not see that being told different things would make a person a bit worried? It may not seem like much money being spent to you but to me it is a lot and I get worried when I spend that much and do not have the items in my hand.

Oh and every time I have called you guys I have been nothing but nice. I have not raised my voice in once instance. The post I made was open ended because I wanted to see what would happen tomorrow and then I would have replied to my post yay or nay.

Reading the above story I think you were a bit premature to jump to the forums to voice your dissatisfaction, hope your order gets through all-right but I'm on Rebeltechs side.
