I can sympathize. When I got fed that line, I almost had a fit. But I carried on tweaking to the point where I was looking for a color meter to test how true the colors were. I knew I was close, but I just had to nudge a bit more. One night Mrs 44 commented that the brand new plasma had worse color than the old CRT. I stood back and tried to objectively look at it. And she was right. In my search for optimal settings I've screwed the picture so bad, our old TV was better. So I got a popular setting from a forum, upped the brightness, downed the contrast and boosted the red. Now everybody is happy.

I found my model on LG's forums, with a whole bunch of settings to try. Sometimes I forget the source may not have been shot in HD - so no amount of tweaking is going to change the quality. I'm a huge fan of BBC and NG documentaries so I want those to look as amazing as possible.
