Abandoned/dead/niche games multiplayer group

I've started a Steam group with the intention to provide people a place to schedule matches for games that are either dead or see very little MP activity. I've found that there are often a lot of people who want to play certain MP games, but they don't because there's either never anybody on the servers or they can't find people to play it with.

I don't expect the group to really go big, but it would be nice if I could find people to play a few of my abandoned MP games with me. I've got way too many MP games I'd like to play, but can't because there's never any locals to play it with and/or international server pings make the games unplayable.

If it takes off, we can look at having gaming nights or weekend events dedicated to playing specific games and maybe even have some small competitions in the future. Currently it's set to invite-only, but all members can invite their friends. This is just to help keep it a group for South Africans only. Obviously Namibians are also welcome to join, but I'd prefer to keep people farther away out in order to make it easier for people to find other people to play with.

I would like an invite please. Once I get it downloaded, I've heard that Crysis Warhead/Crysis Wars is very fun to play in MP, but the community is basically dead. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is also fun (best out of all 3 games that have MP, but it too is dead :/

Aww man. Didn't know there was a group like this already. :(

What I want to do with Press Play is encourage user interaction within the group itself, so I've set up a few forums in the group for people to post in and organise games. You guys should definitely check out the group forums and post threads for the games you want to play. The only way we're really going to get this group to work is if people take part in its forums to meet other players and schedule games.

The chatroom is also a good way to try and meet other people interested in playing certain games.

My gaming time is fairly limited these days but I'd love playing some of the dead mp games.

Even though it's a fairly new game I propose: Tomb Raider

I wasn't able to find any games online when I tried the multiplayer - I have no idea how it is but it would be fun to try if we've got enough who have the game.
 
Yeah, it's not just for old games. Some of the new games have pretty bland multiplayer scenes as well.

I'd also love to play some TR MP.

Freelancer is by far one of my all time favourite games

Darkstar One came close to it, but it lacks multiplayer

but guess we'll have to wait for Star Citizen...

I don't play too much MP games anymore these days, but would also like to try games like Tomb Raider, Portal 2, Magicka, Serious Sam 3, etc. I've had most of these games for a while now, but have never been able to find MP games.
