And did you send a message to the competition tribunal? It's very hard to implement something when nobody complains and instead says it's a small thing, why bother

Nope, I don't see this as an issue, it is a small thing. You would have seen the competition commission/ tribunal a little distracted by the construction companies at the moment - that's where they should be focussing their efforts.

Then I don't see how you can complain about implementation when you won't form part of the solution.

I don't care how small an issue this is, the faster we stop it then less damage can be done. However if we leave it then we expose this grey area for retailers to abuse in future and thus leaving us open for future abuse.

It was a generalization! We also have a great Consumer Protection Act but a weak Consumer Commission.

I really don't see how we are being abused. We may be talking about 100 units at best IMHO. Again, I would rather have my hard earned tax spent on really meaningful stuff.

These are acts that need public intervention to enforce its principles, not their fault that the public doesn't enforce it.

I've sent numerous emails like that to organizations that are suppose to product consumer rights and I'm yet to receive a reply. Like Fivel said, the legislation is wonderful (sometimes) but there is no implementation.

Some of which are exclusive to pre-orders and of those some are exclusive to certain retailers.

Grid 2 was released with 3 day-one DLCs and here in SA BT games, kalahari and Takealot had different packs. Thus if you wanted the asia pack then you were stuck with Kalahari. It is in essence a Monopoly and for people like me who can't download a game with all 3 off steam like me it sucks.

Still pretty much the opposite of a monopoly, each are trying to offer more than the other to compete with each other. EDIT: I'm not saying it right or wrong, just saying its not a monopoly.

i dont really buy special editions, but heck, i deserve to get the same item at different shops, dont i?

Usually I don't buy special editions but games like Starcraft 2 I will get the Collector's Edition.

If this means I can only get it from supplier or retailer and they are going to fleece me in the sale, then I would like to voice my irritation and dissent.

If this monopolistic practice means that I as consumer am prejudiced, then they will lose the sale altogether to international online retailers.
