How to install Uncharted 3 on PS3 -- digital edition

Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you have tried to install uncharted 3 (Free game from PS+) on your PS3 yet?

I tried a while ago and after downloading the single player game file (12GB) and installing it, no icon appeared under my games list.

So i searched for the data on my ps3 and found it in one of the save data options in the games list.

but no play option.

so I deleted the data, re-downloaded the data in-case it was faulty, and also downloaded the multi-player game (+-6GB)

After waiting for the downloads to complete and installing both downloads i had an icon.... it worked :)

BUT

Single player still needed me to download another file, the 2D movie file (13GB). I am currently waiting for it to finish downloading.

How did any of you install it? did you have trouble as well? of is ek maar net dom :(
 
It should work after downloading the movies (Cutscenes).. There's a Uncharted3 Free to play Multiplayer on the store. That one should work without the having the single player installed. Let me know how it goes. I have it on disk but want to sell it after I downloaded and successfully installed it.
 
Ok so last night my download was finished, but i did not have enough space on my HDD left so i had to delete another game.

after getting the required space i installed the 2D movies package, only to not test it out to see if it work. I started to play Warframe on PC.

I will test it tonight and let you know if it works now.
 
Not sure i remember seeing 19GB free space, do not remember if it was before or after my install, will check tonight.
 
Hi,
all the installed content for the game is about 34GB.

I started my game and it worked fine.

if anyone else is going to install the game please try to install the single player game and the 2D movies before you download the multiplayer game, perhaps you can save 6GB.
 
Totally random side post: I'm going to install UC3 to my HDD tonight - the game is unplayable when I run it from the disc.
UC3 is one of two games that gives my PS3 a hard time.

I had my 3rd Corrupted download in a row :(

With 3 diffenent games:
1. Saints Row 3
2. Battlefield 3
3. Infamous 2

I deleted 1 and 2's install file Error Code is (80029564)

Any Suggestions?:(

UPDATE: I read through the posts and will try them and provide feedback. There are lots of solutions from port unblocking and ISP related issue but in short the bet solution is to install the game leave the corrupeted data. Delete install file and redownload and install again.

Don't know if it will work coz I did try to install a few times before deleting, creating multiple corrupted data files.

Can this perhaps be related to a bad sector on the HDD and once it hits that sector the install fails.

What I will also try is to copy 100Gig of data on to my PS3 HDD and forcing it to install to a different area on the HDD away from the so called bad sector.

A guy at my work figured out that you need all the downloads:

- multiplayer (even if you just want to play single player)
- single player
- 2d movies
- and optionally the 3d movies as well, but if you want to play the 3d movies, you must still also have the 2d movies installed

Hope this helps. Also hope you have loads of bandwidth and hdd space available

Hi Matt,

i installed everything except the 3D movies.

My game worked fine last night.
