Ye Some weeks I am busy at work and can't post that much, so I do not make the list, but on avg through the month I normally make it :p

I lol'ed too hard.
Bwahahahaha.
Srsly though, is that the only reason you comment so much? I thought you did so because you actually enjoyed this forum and its forumites?

Nope but going to miss the next one since I wont be on much next week since I am on holiday so would have made this one, but because its void I will miss the next :(

Same with the people who weren't busy this week and were able to post, but next week they cant since its start/end of the busy month again.

TK (which I don't use much anyway) is for points but rest isn't.

The side effect of this method of getting more posts and traffic is that quantity goes up and quality goes down.

I dispute that, the forum has been far more active and engaging, and people have been having fun making posts. There are places where serious discussion is taking place, and places where people are just having a fun chat. All types of activity are welcome because this is how we build a vibrant community :)

As for using the general stats, there are a couple of problems:

I'm not convinced the stats are being recorded correctly post-upgrade as there are a number of evident bugs. We are working to iron these out before launching a competition again.

The general activity stats include all forum activity, where the competition activity stats exclude certain types of activity; so the general activity stats may not reflect the same results.

The lesson has been learnt though; we won't allow the developer to do any updates while a competition is currently running.

oh ok that takes out that option then seems to be accurate for myself, but not sure about everyone else's activity :p.

Still like the voting idea.

For sure there has been an increase in good posts too and places like TK are well... TK ya know.
Didn't mean for my post to come across as Tchatcharag. ^__^

I was posting purely out of my personal view and opinion based on my experience as a user.
I feel that threads tend to derail faster and QFT posts are popping up much more in duscussions.
It's not like the plague up in this place but there has been a definate change in the feel is all I'm sayin'.

Oh snap that sounds like a ton of homework for a nooby. . . .
*walks off to to enjoy the freezing cold of the Cape and play kick the can.

@Ich. You need to stop making
So all my activity posting was for nothing then
your reason for posting. Getting the feeling you're not really here for the discussion, just to post enough to be eligible to be entered into the competitions.

Plus Ichi - you just won the mouse giveaway. You are not eligible for this one as far as I understand. And honestly if I was in charge of the comps you wouldnt be considered in any case since you just admitted that you are spamming your way to the top for the chance to win something, but not really here for the community, which is the idea of the competitions, to create more chatter and conversations. Not oneliners. . . . .

Peripheral competitions are different to consoles/tablets/smartphones so you can enter either even if you won one of them.

Haven't spammed or I would have been banned by now

After i won the xbox i wasnt eligible for a few comps regardless of what they were so i think wyv is right as for the comp setup, i agree with james i like this set up i have noticed a lot more places for me to comment in and read up

If that was long ago hes changed the rules recently and seen people eligible for stuff (he still puts it in brackets for what they won).

8. InSanity (297 Points) - Previous console winner (valid entry for peripherals competition)

Activity competition winner exclusion guidelines

Those who have won previous activity competitions will be excluded for a few months from future competitions so as to give others a fair chance.

There will be a 3 - 6 month sit out, depending on the prize category and value.

- Console or high-end gadget such as a tablet PC = 6 month sit out.
- Peripheral such as a keyboard or mouse = 3 month sit out.

I don't think the exclusions are exclusive, except for the sit out period.

So it would mean, myself and Insanity would sit out for 6 months give or take, and yourself for 3 months

I think James should clarify
