Good Co-Op/Multiplayer Games

I loved Resident Evil 5 in co-op, I'm looking forward to playing Resident Evil 6 at some point whenever I finally feel inclined.

Otherwise:
Borderlands 1/2
Magicka (to an extent)
Terraria (lots and lots and lots of fun, keep an eye on Starbound and Edge of Space (also available on Steam) if you like this genre.
MineCraft
Dawn of War 2 (Retribution is a must)
Civilization V
Anno 2070
Saints Row III
FEAR 3
Fable 3
Orcs Must Die! 2

It depends heavily on you and your co-op partner what you'd be able to get into. Otherwise Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is also a good option, if you have the patience for it.

Husband and I tend to play co-op games to death.

CIV 5... you may start off co-op but it never ends co-op!

Yeah, except it was primarily based on one tactic: zerg rushing your opponent (i.e. continually and rapidly spawning units).

I disagree. I enjoyed DoW2 very much. It was a different genre but by no means was it "fucked up."

Isn't that the basic idea of the earlier RTS games? ( Command and conquer red alert, Generals etc.)

Fucked it up might be a bit harsh... I really wanted it to be more of the same ( Warhammer 40k lore mixed with traditional RTS FTW :D)

I just missed the base building etc. Oh well, I really don't want to get into a argument with you ( I've seen you rant )

Has anybody played dead island co-op?

yes! i suggested it earlier on in the thread. it is a LOT of fun on console, and still fun on PC. the matchmaking when playing with strangers is actually pretty good. people of a similar level and a similar place in the story can join your single player game and help out. or they can take the cool loot... i highly recommend it!

Cool. will definitely give it a bash then! I've had it for quite some time, but I've never gotten around to playing it.

I remember having a lot of fun with Lycanthrope in Dead Island.

Don't really remember what made us stop playing it.

yeah, i imagine once you got to the main town and headed into the sewers. thats about when i stopped playing it too :P

It became incredibly repetitive and boring...

It was basically a poor man's Borderlands with zombies.

Though I actually found borderlands 2 a little boring. I think i played far to much borderlands 1, that when 2 came around, it wasn't all that different, so just kind of found it to be much of the same thing over and over again.

I expected more from Borderlands 2 unfortunately. I had hoped that they would improve the inventory system on PCs, but sadly they didn't and that and the checkpoint system just drove me to stopping. I won't play it again unless it's co-op.

We played BL2 and finished it like 3 times with all DLC on various levels, including going over level 50.We LANed it at work and it was quite fun.
I found the inventory system a lot better than BL.

Well guys if you played BL2 solo then it can be boring, some games are just better when playing co-op or multiplayer.

In what way exactly? In my experience it was still an incredible inefficient and clumsy inventory system on PC. It is a perfect example of a bad port - I am only referring to this system and not the whole game. It might be functional, but it makes no attempt whatsoever to make use of the improved pointing devices of PC.

Yeh I must agree. The inventory system of borderlands 2 is difficult to get used to.

Nope lanned it, 4 player co-op. Still found it boring after a while. But as i said, i think its mostly because i played number 1 so much. and 2 wasn't that different.

Ok at some points regarding the inventory system did annoy me when scrolling or selecting weapons.
