Wooh,a few weapons got their cert prices reduces. Some weapons that used to be 1000c is now 250c and 750c.

You really need to join out outfit if you want to certs to start rolling in,Pmurgs

Some weapons on vehicles also go a price increase (think one of the tank weapons that was 250c got increased to 750c.

Edit:here is a question, can i pay airtime into a paypal account and then use that to buy SC on PS2,can't do mobile payments directly and i don't like using cards online.

Anyone have a similar configuration to this that can't play the game because its performance is too poor?

Core i3-530 @ stock 2.93ghz
4x2gb Corsair XMS3 PC1600 @ 1333mhz, auto (stock) timings
2tb variable (5,400rpm) Seagate drive with over 40mb/s random, 90mb/s sequential read performance
GTX460 1gb with a slight factory overclock

I also use a 8gb flash drive that gets over 55mb sequential read that I use for ReadyBoost - whether I'm using that or not, performance doesn't improve. Performance doesn't improve utilizing a ramdrive solution, either, so I don't think it's my HDD that's causing issues.

I've tried all sorts of config file hack suggestions from the PS2 forums with no luck. I've tried all sorts of setting combinations as recommended by players and the admins with no luck. The game runs considerably better on a friend's computer with a Q6600 at stock with some Radeon card and on another friend's computer with a Q6600, 6gb ram and a GTX460 1gb, yet I never get more than about 50% utilization on the two physical cores of my CPU for the game anyway...

I'm talking an FPS below 13 in areas that aren't particularly busy and severe input lag whether I'm playing in true fullscreen or borderless windowed with vsync on or off.

The game isn't exactly optimized,it does not make full use of the CPU so lower end users suffer.Currently an i5 is recommended.

I'm in an outfit I'm quite happy with. Actually this is the 4th outfit I've joined in ps2. This is the only outfit I've found that really focuses on squad level tactical and strategic play.

I see you are in TTRO. I've joined their platoons many times when there are no other decent squads/platoons going and my outfit doesn't have a squad up. TTRO are very big but... to be honest, amongst the other outfits, they don't have a reputation for being dependable or effective when you consider TTRO's numbers.

No idea. I've just used my credit card. I'm quite happy using my credit card online with companies that are well known. Been doing it for over ten years now. Never had a problem.

I'm not a fan of paypal even though I've used them in the past. I don't see them as a reliable company that put their customers first. I've seen them buckle to external pressure and close certain customers accounts just on the word of one non judicial party. I avoid using paypal if at all possible.

ps2 runs most of its work on just one core. It does a lot of work on one core that seems to be needed to be sequential. So you really need a very fast processor. My i7-2600k at 5Ghz drops to around 45 fps in major battles. Also having more than two cores means the work it does manage to offload to other cores can be run very quickly as the other cores then don't take any strain. So really, at 2.93Ghz with a dual core, you are going to suffer.

ps2 also is sensitive to memory speeds. People with pc2100 memory and up (and a fast cpu) get slightly better performance than those with lower speed memory.

Your map loading time are also going to suck with a slow hard drive that only does 90MBps. I ran it on a 130MBps drive and it was slow. Switching to a quick SSD made a world of difference for me.

But basically, its your cpu that is holding you back. Thats what you need to upgrade to increase your ps2 performance significantly. You also need to overclock it as even the top intel cpu's at stock speed don't run this game so great. This game in big fights really pushes even the top intel cpus to their limits for what they can do on one core.

Sorry for the thread necro guys but is anyone still active in this? i just started playing and am enjoying it :D

Yep, I'm still playing. Rank 99 now, still enjoying it. Myself, Talock, Dmon and St0n3d from ZA are all in the Redmist Outfit, Ceres Server, Terran Republic faction.

Tried the BF4 beta for one day. Immediately went back to Planet Side 2. The small map felt so empty in BF4 even with 64 players compared to PS2.

My only issue with ps2 is how much grind you have to out in to get any decent gear compared to people with wallets that just buy it all

Thats the number one problem with PS2,they always say it's not P2W just because you can earn something through gameplay.

I only play 2 hours a day and 2-3 days a week and make about 30certs an hour of less.

Within 2 weeks i would have around 180 certs.

I've seen people get up to 100certs an hour but they are usually the ones finding a high traffic area and then simply farming up the kills long range with a tank either with direct fire or by using a grenade launcher gunner secondary and spamming around a enemy sundy far out of sight while the enemy just keeps spawning in.
