Xbox 360 points transfer to Xbox One?

So apparently Microsoft announced that your Xbox 360 gaming points will be able to transfer to the Xbox One.......Wow who cares, the points don't serve any purpose. They don't mention anything about the transfer of HDD games....sigh.

Soooooo anyone getting the PS4?

Overall Gamer Score is rather important to a lot of gamers, and so they will be glad to know their score carries over to the new system. Of course, this is also tied to a Gamer Tag, and therefore it makes sense for those lifetime stats to carry over.

They have addressed the transfer of Xbox 360 games to Xbox One - it won't be happening. If you want to continue playing Xbox 360 disc-based games and Arcade titles, then you will need to keep an Xbox 360 around.

It's the same story for PS3 PSN purchases and PS3 discs - they won't be carrying over to PS4.

Yeah points indicate the number of games played and achievements earned, but at least Microsoft should reward gamers at reaching certain point levels.

I thought Sony said they would port over everything? This puts a damper on me getting the ps4.

Some months ago, the GS really had a meaning, giving you benefits etc, mainly to the US gamers, so we in RSA miss out on a lot of those types of rewards...

I don't mind really, but it is better to know my history carries over, just undecided right now on X1 or PS4, M$ have done some great 180s, and they are trying hard, not to go unnoticed mind you.

Also liking the line-up of exclusives, hopefully they will finally convince me at gamescom....will have to wait another 3 weeks or so...

Their upcoming titles are very attractive, the only thing I fear is Microsoft reverting back to their initial specs of the Xbox One.
Right now I'm very skeptic,I'm thinking of waiting like 6months after the launch to see what they do.

Well we have to wait for X1 in RSA anyway, so it gives us time to save up and keep an eye out for the reviews and comparisons that will surely become available after they've released in the US, but I've also heard a ton of rumours flying that M$ might drop the price on X1 by summer 2014, so next year June/July, I'm still not getting the 500GB version, they need to bump it to 1.5tb if they want me to get one from the get go, 500GB for PVR'ing and installing and playing games is WAY too little, I swop so much at the moment between games, if I have to install everytime I want to play a game I haven't played in 3 months I'm going to CRAP myself...

Time will tell, I'm only getting BF4 Premium for X1 untill the "complete" or GOTY editions start floating about, I have WAY too many games on x360 I still need to finish... so i'm good for a while yet "whistling:

I think 500GB should be quite sufficient. Lets asume the average game install will use about 12 GB, then you can theoretically store about 40 games on your HDD.
Also you can play the game while it's disc installs, that is a standard feature on both the XBOne and PS4 so not much waiting needed if you have to re-install games later.

I doubt they'll bump it to 1.5TB,they'll just tell you to do it yourself.BTW I like your username,I use the word steaksauce to express how cool something is.

Steaksauce,

the next-gen games will come on blu-ray, with megatextures, bigger game worlds etc, I highly doubt games will come in at 12gb, my BF3 is currently at around 20GB, so next-gen will bump to around 15-25gb in the beginning, and gradually creep upwards to around 30gb, my guess....

Should get some games on it though, so i agree with that, just don't think it'll be as many...

Oh, then there are patches,DLC and movies/tv series, DVR etc that will clunk up the HDD....

We'll have to sit and wait, hopefully we will be able to buy an upgrade on HDD like we currently can, ie. 250gb to 320gb

Valid point. The games will undoubtably be bigger but I think features like being able to start playing the game while the disc installs will be good enough for me. Might also help if they allow an external via USB 3.0 to simplify the process without having to replace the internal HDD.

Thanks. It's from HIMYM back before it got incredibly lame. I think it was season 2 or 3 where they did the whole steaksauce thing with Marshal at work.

At least with the PS4 you will be able to replace your HD yourself, so if you need more space I assume you will be able to buy a bigger HD .

I don't think it will be impossible on the XBOne either. The problem most people have is buying a console and then having to fork out more cash to upgrade features like a bigger HDD.

I have a suspicion that Microsoft will have special made HDDs and you'll have to buy those if you want to upgrade the space, just so that they can make more money.

You can make that a certainty. They did that with the 360 slim models, I doubt very much they'll want to do things any differntly with the XBOne.

I think it's a proprietary HDD, but I might be wrong, so they'll definitely be making some bigger HDDs available a short while after launch..

I'm such a complete idiot, I forgot about external HDD

Forget my previous statement, 500GB should be fine :p

Well thats what i mean with the PS4, it sounds like you can purchase a normal HD and replace it yourself. Where as the XBox-one you will be charged an arm and leg for a HD that's half the size of the standard HD out at the time.

The main reason I want the ps4 besides are the cool stuff Microsoft messed up,is to play The Division Multiplayer.
I haven't downloaded any games off the Playstation store yet,but hope to do so only when I get the PS4.
