Lol what snakes??? That's the question! :p

I've never even heard of it! :wtf:

I remember Kring in 'n Bos and that book you got in Grade 1: "Ek is Piet. Piet is honger. Piet gaan nou eet. Piet en Sarie speel..."
Probably because it was a afrikaans second language book

We only had English to learn.

the only afrikaans book i even vaguely remember is http://www.booksagain.co.za/index.php/fiction/afrikaans/n-pot-vol-winter.html

"Gaan blaas doppies !!!!"

We called it "n Pot vol Kak".

And then you get the Marita van der Vyver afrikaanse chick-lit.
I tried reading "Griet skryf 'n sprokie" but I couldn't. There is one scene where the woman tries to commit suicide by sticking her head in the gas oven. She then sees how dirty the oven is, so she cleans it and then she doesn't feel like killing herself anymore.

Way too much weird book shittalking up in here ......

When you grow up in places like Sasolburg and Komati, it don't matter if you speak only English at home, you WILL be taught in Afrikaans, lol

On that mine in Malawi it was full of Afrikaans guys, they all spoke English so I would understand.
