I'm not sure they changed the story that much - apart from those two final episodes (all those stupid still shots and endless talking) - but that of course is completely open to speculation.

I am, however, keenly watching the Rebuild movies, as they come to us ... there are already a couple of minor changes in the first one, with some bigger changes being mentioned for the second.

I'm just annoyed that they decided to change Asuka's family name - I can't see the rationale behind that.
 
Need to Get second movie. The remastered series in to the 1st movie the fight seen with the giant triangle that changes shape is awesome.

Well ... I've only seen the first one - the story is pretty much the same, and goes up to the point just before Asuka joins the plot. But there's a massive improvement in the animation.

Some of the elements of the story are being changed - I'm not sure how much it will affect the entire storyline. Basically the first three will be an alternate retelling of the series, with a fourth movie presenting a new conclusion.

Apparently these movies will be the way Anno wants them to be ... dunno, but after seeing the first one I have high hopes.

Maybe they also wanted to make the series a bit more palatable to the masses? :P

Busy making my way through Macross Frontier - I'm actually almost finished with it.

Any of you guys remember Robotech ... showed on TV back in 19-voertsek ... it may be because I grew up with it that I'm enjoying Macross so much - because, in general, I'm not a huge fan of mecha anime.

I bought the box set. :) The Macross Saga , Masters and The New Generation all on like 10-15 DVDs.
 
I'm telling you man, it's a freekin bargain for that price. All 80-something episodes for leass than R500. :eek:
 
I still watch it every now and then. The Macross Saga is still my favourite (cept for Minmei's singing :eek:). I scan through the Masters saga, that really wasn't good at all. And then the New generation was good as well.

Got The Shadow Chronicles as well. Waiting for the next installment.

Oh, btw, you guys know there a live action movie coming out sometime right? Tobey Maguire to Produce and Star apparently.

The Americans are going to put their greasy paws all over it again. You'll have to excuse me, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
 
Meh ... I'm not a fan of sports anime at all ...

There's the rare one that interests me - Bamboo Blade being one, but in general I don't enjoy them too much.
