I don't think it's stupid or anything, but yeah it just does nothing for me either. It's less to do with the actual stories and more to do with the type of animation itself.

For me it is a bit of both, I cannot get into the stories nor the style of animation. It might also be the fact that Shadowfox has shown me the darker side of anime as well.

Exactly, Lunanoir doesn't play games, but she has no issues with me doing it, we have different hobbies and interests, which we are both fine with and it works out great.
I'll sometimes encourage her to give something a try if I think she might enjoy it, but if she doesn't I wont keep pushing it either.
