Opinion: PC fanboys...

Someday some bloke is going to look at his console setup - then look at his PC setup, and realise he's got two of the same thing :p

Although he'll be playing different games on each of them :D

Yeah, have 3 consoles + PC, xbox 720 because he wanted the night goggles for modern warfare 5, playstation 4 for the metal gear solid 15 exclusive, a wii for the kids, and a PC for WoW 2...

He's a slave to the systems , PC or console - only the master's name changes.

The whole drama between consoles and pcs is completely retarded. I love my pc, but my brother has a 360, my friends have Wiis and PS3s and they're all very fun to play on. I'll stick with my pc, but I won't give anyone lip for preferring console.

If you tell me that a pc sucks for gaming and console is the only way to go, I'll write a two page essay back :P

LOL Nice!:D

I have no problem with either, I don't see why people get so worked up about it. I like and have both, though prefer my FPS on PC. All I can say is, who cares? It's all the same

Mmmm...What can I say I own a Pc, x360 and ps3...I usually play console games when im in the mood to lay on the couch and just do some laid back gaming.
My pc on the other hand is used 24/7..I can't live without it.

Grew up as a PC gamer, haven't played any games on my PC since 2006.
My console collection has steadily grown since then.

Since I started working, playing games on the same platform that I do my "work" on just doesn't seem all that appealing to me anymore. Personal preference at the end of the day I guess.

And a utility that you can use to check your mail. Oh and maybe online shopping?

Yeah that's the thing. PCs absolutely rule at doing multiple things. However if we are looking from a pure gaming standpoint, consoles are the way for the majority.

Personal preference at the end of the day I guess.

Personal preference indeed.
For me that personal preference is PC. I don't see myself owning a console... I hope that with consoles becomgin more popular they don't skip out on the PC... I was so excited when a fighting game (SFIV) finally came to PC.

Here's some food for thought. What would you say if I told you.. the gaming industry is slowly forcing people into purchasing / using consoles as the main gaming platform due to piracy on the PC? Exclusives titles definately attract people depending, hell Gears of War was 360 exclusive and it made me buy the console.

I currently have a PC and 360, and I do most of my gaming on the PC, and play the 360 just for the exclusive titles, Gears1+2, Fable2 etc. I just think from a developer's or publisher's point of view, if i was going to release a new game I would want some guarenteed sales so I'd launch on console platform's, 360 and PS3 first. And after 3-4 months you release the PC version. You can already see this trend happening, but I guess that all depends on the developer or publisher.

With some of the exclusive titles your bang out of luck, you have no choice. Buy the console or dont play the game. Hell I dream of the day I can get a PS3 and fire up Metal Gear Solid 4!
I think people who have matured around gaming in general are typically not fan boys, at the end of the day we all just want to play great games.

Technically consoles are PCs boxed in custom towers. They use a motherboard, a cpu, a graphics card, etc. etc. The major internal difference are a custom BIOS, slimmed down operating system and application set. The limits on the consoles are exactly what Microsoft and Sony pick and choose from the PC.

Its silly to hate on the platforms themselves since they are ultimately very similar. What's worth investing some hate into is exclusivity and shitty ports.

Personally, I am a PC gamer, but I own a 360 as well. I was peeved that I had to buy a 360 at all (exclusivity), but other than the lower graphics and lack of shooters with mouse support (one of the easiest peripherals to add support for), its a decent gaming platform that I've had fun with.

Excellent EXCELLENT post! My sentiments exactly. I enjoyed this post much more than the main article which was more of an attack than anything else.

What would I say? One word...
Demigod.
Why?
They didn't even bother with a anti-piracy thing and they had amazing sales.

But yeah great post in anycase.
Though I'll still stick with a PC... just my personal choice... You have your choice, I have mine.

Also the fact you can charge 3x the price for a console game compared to the exact same PC game?

Well, that and the 30 000 people who pirated the game and overloaded the servers at launch, crippling the game for the legitimate buyers.

Hit a nerve then, did it?

Yeah it did a bit. Only because you found yourself too high and mighty to continue in the thread and then went on to write an article about it.

I do feel that the guy was wrong in saying the things he did, but you provoked him.

That's why I'm not happy with the article, because it's really more of an attack. It's a luxury which you have which the other people in the thread didn't. I wasn't part of the whole thread argument, I'm just not happy with the immature way you handled it.
