HD remakes on the horizon

I still have my Odd World - Abe's Odyssey :)

I also remember playing The Legend of Zelda in CNA as a kid on the Nintendo Game Cube :D

in my book FF10 is more an upscale than a remake, that legend of zelda is looking good but im not selling out for a wii u just to get that.

Looks really good,I'll definitely get FF,I never got to finish it,played on a friends console cause I didn't have my own.

Looking forward to Oddworld. I have Abe's Odyssey on steam and still play it from time to time in its 320x200 max resolution glory. You can almost taste the pixels :D

A little bit excited for the Oddworld remake, that promises to be very nice. Just played all the Oddbox games last year again and still love Abes Oddyssee.
Would be nice if a proper HD remake of FF7 could happen. Too bad Square have killed that dream for everyone.

It pisses me off to be honest.
There are so many smart indie devs out there. We need a skunkworks project to get FFVII done. The HD mods are great but it's so complex to set up that most people will never experience it.

I've still got my PS1 versions of both the Abe's it had, I want to get oddbox for Strangers Wrath and Munchs Oddysee?

Looking forward to the FFX he version. I would totally rent a WiiU for that wind walker remake, goodness it looks gorgeous.

I know. That is a game I will never forget. I think it should be preserved in HD so that other generations can experience it as well.
Then there is also the other side of the coin that it may not measure up to some more modern games, I think that is what Square is scared of.

I think you hit the nail on the head. You can give the game a new coat of paint but it won't stand on its own in todays market.
Only purists will appreciate it for what it is.
That said I think an FF8 remake would do well even in todays market.
