But would you really call your daughters maintenance income. If it is income then did her parents complete an income tax return based on the cash and goods she supplied to them?

Income is generally defined to prevent confusion and the common trend is services rendered in return for income. Now I'm fairly certain this isn't services as defined but if it is then can we also go after those 2 for tax evasion because I seriously doubt they filed tax returns while Reeva was supporting them.

I could also go on that normal people don't class their child as a financial investment for the purpose of monetary returns. Do you think its fair to class a person as an investment and not your child because if your claiming lose of income then your also calling your child a financial asset in my books.

Sigh, You know I wish it was the Other way around. She should have shot him DEAD. or mebbe they should have shot each other, BANG BANG, We shot each other dead :D

Im tired of reading about this whole flippen thing. I wish every murder, rape, fraud case would get this kinda attention. Maybe our beloved Corruption of a Country wouldnt be so Corrupt then :D

One thing I cant get enough of is teh Oscar jokes :P Laugh mah legs of every time(see what I did there)

We0 We0, UntZ UntZ

Well this is a legal case so these points are possible. I still don't think it's fair to call your child a source of your income, it's not fair to them and if I'm dead I wouldn't want my parents fighting over my legacy.

Also the legal nightmare in future, every murder victims family can sue the killer for losses and then where will be left, government footing the bill

See it differently, Reeva was supporting them and that support was taken away by Oscar.

Every victim's family can legally do this ifbthey have the legal means. This will not have an impact on government, they have no responsibility regarding this.

Settle out of court? I didn't know that this was a civil case. I thought all murder charges were prosecuted by the state vs. defendant.

They should settle out of court for reimbursement of lost income, but have the state still prosecute him for murder and illegal possession of ammunition.

The civil case would be a separate thing altogether. The murder case is something the state is running while the civil case would be something instituted by society; in this case the parents.
