Headphones is a bit off an encumberance when on the go opposed to earphones thats why I prefer the latter.
Yeah the title says earphones but he stated headphones in the opening post. Plus I'm a sucker for headphones.

I listened to a pair of Sennheiser HD800s and Grado PS-1000s at a friends place, and immediately wanted to make a plan to sell organs to get the headphones and a good amp.

I just placed an order for Beyerdynamic DT 770s in a 250 ohm version
The HD 800s and the Grados are incredible. I just wish I had the money for that.

I have a pair of HD558's. I absolutely love them, I couldn't be happier with them.
I use them for gaming and music. Excellent headphones.

No no I would never buy second hand equipment. I like knowing that what I bought is new. I put it out there for anyone else who might be interested.
Especially headphones, who knows if they clean their ears..

Lol, would also like to add that I don't buy 2nd hand equipment that I need to make physical contact with regularly.
If OP decides to buy 2nd hand, ensure that there is some warranty on the item

Which amp are you going to be running them off?

I've got a Roland UA-55 Quad Capture which is more than capable of driving them, but I use it for my music production.
I'd prefer to buy a dedicated headphone amp and preamp. Something like the Schiit Magni and Schiit Modi. I initially wanted the Schiit Valhalla cos I'm a sucker for tube amps, but I've heard that the Valhalla is almost 'too colourful'.
That's why I like my Quad Capture. The response is as neutral as can be.
