Case fans - what is better?

Heya everybody,

After getting my new Corsair Obidian 800D - kudos again to all-around-awesome-dude Joker(received it but may only use on the 15th of September - wife is very hardcore about birthdays, meh) I am looking around to see what case fans I can put into my rig to make it more awesome. In the case there is space for 3 x 140mm and 4 x 120mm and I would like to fill it. My end-all choice will also influence my color scheme. I was thinking about blue LED fans with yellow case lighting. Or White LED fans with blue case lighting. Eish, all these options.....

My question is two-fold:

1.) What is better air flow (CFM) or static Pressure?
2.) to PWM or not to PWM?

For my 400R I got this

Bitfenix recon fan controller

Corsair sp120

Corsair af120

Then I wired some LEDs myself so I could get the lights to shine outwards instead of lighting just the fan.
I got this to connect to my PSU and then 7 super bright red LEDs and shrink tubing

verrry nice setup Ike!! I love the look especially of your front intake fans.

My mind is drifting a lot between the corsair sp's and the cougar vortex's. according to international reviews they do seem quite even on par. I wonder just why rebeltech sells a single corsair SP/AF for R132 but a double pack for R 283 - do you pay more for the bigger packaging (132 + 132 = 264 and not 283.... :wtf:)

The double box is fancier but there is no difference from a contents point of view, go for the cheaper alternative.

The front fans are the stock fans included with my case so in total I have 7, 3 stock and 4 afters. A fan controller though is a must with all those fans IMO

Do you have the before/after temps of your setup with different fan setups?

No I don't but I can feel the difference from exhaust fans. I was too lazy to take temps etc

Does anybody have experience with Cougar Vortex 120mm fans?

Here's a link - http://www.cougar-world.com/products/fans/vortex.html

Only the 120mm's are available in our good ol' ZA and they retail for about R135 a pop depending where you shop. And they only come in orange with no LED's.

I'm interested in getting one of these as an exhaust fan, where are you getting it from?

Okay thanks
