I am looking for advice regarding keyboards with back lighting as i am on my second Microsoft X4 keyboard in the space of less than a year, as all the most frequently used keys are all warn of and all one can see are just red dots.I am looking for something reasonably priced that are durable and will last for longer than a year.
So i will appreciate if anyone could help me out with suggestions and advice it will be greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for something durable, mechanical keyboards have way better build quality than their membrane counterparts. How much money are you looking to spend?

anything Logitech, Every single keyboard ive owned from logitech is still working somewhere at either friend or family members house.

This goes back about 10 years

@OP,
I'm suffering from the same problem.
The "ASD" keys on my X6 are pretty much just red blobs :(

The paint of the keys does tend to fade quickly, but the keys themselves are still solid.
I'm currently looking for plastic paint to see it that'll be a cheap remedy. :p
If the paint job turns out to be fine, it'll look like you made modifications to your WASD keys :D

I really wonder how people go through keyboards this fast, I use a normal Microsoft multimedia keyboard and the only keys that has faded are my play/pause, stop and next keys. The rest haven't let me down yet. I'd like to get as recommended above a nice mechanical keyboard.

@Op Here's something to read about mechanical keyboards. HERE

With a high budget you should look into Cherry MX mechanical keyboards. See what keys you think you will like and go hunting...

Some one mentioned to me to-day the name Gigabyte Aivia Osmium, any one have experience of gigabyte mechanical keyboards?
Aparantly better bang for your bucks than the Corsair Keyboards.

Osmium is a lovely keyboard but "K" series reviews are saying good things XD.
