Please help!

Yeah, that looks good. You'll have no issues with hardware compatibility. Don't bank on overclocking that FX-8320 very high, as the M5A97 does have a limit of how much power it can deliver to an overclocked FX chip. I would suggest looking at any places that are cheaper, though...

AMD FX-8320 @ R2048
ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0 @ R1171
Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 @ R510
Corsair VS650 650W @ R667

Cooler Master Scout 2 @ R1073
Total: R5469

You're saving about R661 by going with a place like Rebeltech, and their shipping fees cap at R80/R100.

Sorry for trolling - honestly could've probably figured it out but i'm not a regular forum user - appreciate the input though thanks.

Umm if i can save R300 on the psu to go the way i did instead of going for the gaming series i could always add on something else. Like i said the budget is R6000 for everything except the gpu as i will be borrowing him a 4870 till he can do the last upgrade probably to a 7870 or equivalent card.

The guy i'm helping to build this pc for has no interest whatsoever in ever overclocking or owning more than one graphics card so i was just wondering if it would be okay. I also thought i would probably be a better idea to go big on the psu (better safe than sorry, even though i made him buy 2 coolermaster's on previous occasions that both didn't last more than six months and he's running a generic matrix warehouse psu for the last year now).

I'm thinking going to the 600 Gaming series and keeping the rest as is, Goal is to be equivalent to at least a Ps4 so as to ensure gaming at a comfortable high for the next 2-3 years.

Just keep in mind that the Gaming series isn't all that different from the CX and VS series, they mainly differ in connectors, 12v ratings and warranties, even though they're based on the same basic design. Your starting point should be the VS650 I linked, because that'll power most things you'll be shoving into the chassis.

The rest of the build is fine otherwise.

why not get a gaming series PSU intead of the builder series?

Why do you link to Newegg?

their reviews are highly trusted (me and lots of other people) and they review pretty much everything...

Ah, for the consumer feedback, right. :)

I wouldn't trust any of their reviews through, especially the ones on NewEgg TV. They're a nice bunch, sure, but they won't be objective.

Feedbacks nice :)

I have followed Newegg TV for a while, and while Paul and his team are good...too many overviews for me! XD

Their reviews are too 'sugar coated' and too bright and happy...

They need to just give the facts and not this bs way of making the reviews.

The whole point of a YouTube review is for their opinion. If you want the facts just look at the specs...
