Mafia; interest gauging and signup thread.

Looking at your post history, you almost exclusively post in TK on these forums. The irony in your post is almost palpable.

Now please tell me, what is the difference between you posting in TK and other people participating in a forum game? If you're worried about post whoring for competitions, I would actually say a forum game such as Mafia contributes a lot more of worth than TK does.

Which is not the point. Today alone she made 12 posts in TK and 2 posts elsewhere, one of which was in this thread. Forgive me for putting it bluntly, but if Wyvern spends so much time in TK and then goes on to say a game of mafia is a way to postwhore for competitions, it can be considered irony at its finest.

If Wyvern doesn't want to participate in the game, f*ck it, so be it. Stop picking on her for having said this, or having posted that.

She's entitled to her own opinion as are you, but you're making it appear as though she's a hypocrite of sorts.
If she doesn't want to partake in your Mafia venture because of such and such reasons, then let it be... and move on!

Stop being so damn persistent and insistent.

Edit: Interrogate someone else to be a part of your game.

Wyvern did not say she does not want to participate. She said we should not play it here at all, as she considers it spam. I am just pointing out that this is ironic, seeing as she regularly participates in TK.

So, fine. A day in and I'm starting to see how this community works. It's a pity to see that the same mob mentality that drove me away from MyBB is also here. I merely thought that it would be nice to have a game of mafia, but if this is the response to a thread trying to gouge interest then I don't think this is a particularly nice community. Sorry for the people who showed interest in the game. Insanity sent me a message to say I should host it on his forums, so maybe I'll do that instead. I guess the search for a decent local forum continues.

I'm not really interested in it, personally. But I figure it could liven the forum up if enough people are interested.

And have to agree, TK is a lot more spam-filled and less constructive than a forum game would be.

If people enjoy it then what's the harm?

But only way you'd know is to try it and see how it goes.

I figure asking people "Would you be interested in...?" as opposed to just doing it and seeing how it goes is asking for trouble--brings out all the cynical pessimists on the forum :)

Sorry mate, picking on a respected forumite is asking for trouble. Your research regarding where Wyvern posts is flawed. BTW participating in TK does not make your contribution to MyGaming any less valuable.

Judging an entire forum by the conversations of a few of its users.

And I never said her contributions weren't valuable. I said she spends a lot of time posting in TK (which if my experience on MyBB is anything to go by is essentially a spam thread) and now she wants to say we shouldn't have a mafia game because it is spam. Whether she posts doesn't matter. You can't say a certain thread should not be allowed because it is spam if you frequently post in a spam thread yourself.

I think it is safe to say that 'growing up' is the last thing you want to do in this forum. Being young at heart is exactly what you need IMHO.

I'd just like to take this delicate (and clearly risky) opportunity to say that this is how I understood what you said originally (i.e. not an attack on Wyvern but an explanation for why a forum game would be harmless fun, especially if TK is fair game for fun).
