Xbox 360 has three more years of life

If the next three years is anything like the last three then sorry that is so sad. Maybe they mean "support" in the form of selling refurbished 360's and it's accessories.

This means only one thing for me... The PS4 just won me over!

Let me break it down for you guys...there are about 77 million Xbox 360's sold around the world. That is a huge user base, and is a number that cannot be ignored by MS. So what the article ACTUALLY means is that MS will keep on pumping out new games for the Xbox 360 for about 3 more years. This does not mean that they do not have confident in the Xbone; it does not mean they are "sad" or something. It means they are still going to cater for Xbox 360 owners that will not be upgrading to the Xbone within the next 3 years. It's a move that Sony did exactly the same with the PS2; they kept on making games for that console looooooong after it was replaced by the PS3. And you know what, Sony is going to do the exact same thing for the PS3. They will also be making ans selling games for the PS3 for years to come. So no, this is in no way a bad move by MS at all.

Well, there are about a hundred Xbox 360 titles planned next year and Microsoft is making it their entry-level option for gamers. I think they're doing the right thing here and certainly the hardware has a lot of life left in it. Sony's doing the same for the PS3, so this isn't really anything new for the market, but it is different for Microsoft - their first long-term support phase for a console.

It also means that we shouldn't expect massive price drops on the previous generation, or the next one either for at least a year. The Xbox 360 250GB will remain at $250 with the One at $500 and the 4GB 360 at $199. The PS3 will start of at $199 as well and the PS4 will remain at $399 for a while. Its quite an odd market this year.
