What is the worst game you played but actually enjoyed?

Temple of elemental evil. Didn't do so great with scoring full of bugs. But a mod came out and made it very fun. Remember buying it and playing it not getting very far years later I downloaded the mod and finished it.

Pool of raidence ruins of Mythdranor. Claimed it used third generation rules but it was 2.5 rule set lol. also had a bug when you uninstalled it it would delete a windows file. But I really loved it. My first proper rpg game.

Starship Troopers from 2005 (the fps)

man so many problems in that game. and yet strangely fun

Loved both of them.

Really hope that Pool of Radiance makes it onto GOG before too long, I'd love to play it again.

I really enjoyed Alpha Protocol even though it had an unfavourable reception for being buggy and unpolished. I didn't play it at release so they might have ironed out a few of the bugs by then but I enjoyed the whole secret agent theme and the fact that your decisions had significant consequences, impacting who would be your ally and who would be your enemies. I even remember feeling a bit remorseful for making a selfish decision on one of the missions.

The gameplay could be frustrating, especially if taking the stealth approach. And the game made the same mistake with the bosses as Deus Ex Human Revolution, BEFORE DR:HR did. Despite this, the story line had some interesting twists and a few interesting characters and the gameplay had some good moments. Overall I enjoyed the 20+ hours I sunk into it.

Test Driver Unlimited 1 and 2: To be fair they both got mediocre scores from critics, but I really enjoyed the fact that these games gave you over 1000km of open road to explore, and a whole host of awesome cars to drive. Yes it was buggy and yes the races were not very varied, but I still spent hours just driving around the country side buying houses.

Hellgate:london

Even played the new online version, the nice thing was that you could sell things on the market that could be bought with real money (the only things being level tickets which you needed to get to higher lvl areas). Most people waited for events and collected tokens so they could sell them on the market for level tickets.

I'd agree there. Fun game, but arguably the worst bunch of douche bag characters in a game, ever.
It earns it's moniker of "Sim Douche".

The bureau: XCOM declassified

Lots of hate going towards the game because it's not following the XCOM roots.
Critics hammered it being a multi-genre game that didn't excel in any department (wtf? thought that was the point of a multi-genre game) and dumb AI.

In my opinion, it's a good take on tactical squad shooter. The AI requires a lot of micro-management, which does get in the way doing the shooting yourself.

Clive Barkers Jericho - Got horrible reviews but wasn't all that bad in my mind, yes ending was silly but loved swapping between the different guys.
Remember Me - Got an average of 7 out of 10, maybe due to it's combat, but the setting, the story and just the main character were all pretty good.

Also loved Jericho, the graphics were mind blowing at the time and i loved the music and gore.

I'm not sure why it got such bad reviews because it was simply amazing, the ending was rather underwhelming as you said though (2 of your team just dying in an instant)

Hmmm, well in my circle of friends I get teased every now and then because I like the Legend of Zelda series, Mario party and Super smash bros and how it's supposedly kiddie and not hardcore. And.... that's about all I can think of at the moment.
