It cost US$265 to make, according to a report over on The Scotsman (though, we do wonder where they got this number). That’s around R2.643-billion), which was the marketing and development budget of the colossal crime-epic.

I put that in the Article corrections thread - at that amount, I could fund GTAVI. :P
 
They'll recover their expenditures with the amount of copies that are going to be sold -- at least, that's what I suspect/anticipate.
 
And if they limit it too console only, they're not going to realise full monetary potential of the game.

I think its set for a later date, i have no source for that i just read it or saw it on Youtube. Still pretty bleak though.
 
That amount is astronomical. I mean, how exactly could the development come to such a sum?
Perhaps Rockstar employees get super fat pay checks.

Nah, just look at the credits. There are a LOT of people involved in making a game like this.

Time is very expensive, especially for qualified and skilled developers / animators etc. Never mind the fact that it was over 2 years. You really should have a go at Game Development Tycoon to see what costs are involved etc, great fun too!
