XBOX Controller buttons issue!

2) There is a known problem with the fuse in the receiver going bad, and can be fixed by bridging the gap where the fuse is. You'd have to google this for more info, as I can't recall recall the specifics.

I kept running into this on Google as well.

Two ideas to try.

1) When you hit the search button on the receiver, make sure to press the sync button on the controller itself (next to LB, iirc) as well

that didn't work for me. the light on the receiver just switches off soon as you press the sync button on the controller

The light on my receiver doesn't come on at all. I think it might be busted completely.
yeah if it doesn't start blinking after holding in the sync button then it's probably busted. might be worth looking into that fuse thing then

This may prove useful:
Go to the start menu and search for device manger and it should come up. What you're looking for is most likely under the tab human interface device, right click on the option you want to disable ( in our case hid-compliant game controller) and there should be an option to disable it . After you disable it restart your computer, and, hopefully , the button mapping will return to normal.

Okay I was able to borrow a receiver from a friend.

It installed the drivers fine but it looks like my controller won't sync with it.

Any ideas?

not even with a force sync?

I vaguely remember having this problem at first as well.....

Not even with a force sync.

I've uninstalled all drivers and I'm busy restarting the pc.

Gonna let Windows manually install drivers and see if it works.

I think I had to unplug the receiver after the drivers installed, and then it sync'd after plugging it back in

Nope it still isn't working.

The controller lights are still just flashing but the receiver's light is solid.

If I try to manually update the Controller's drivers, I get a Code 10 error.
