Explain your forum name

At school I had the nickname Palang (eel) after I fell awkwardly on top of another player in rugby practice after I tackled him. Then some of the souties couldn't pronounce it and changed it to Piesank - some sort of mixture between palang/piesang/piesankie but it stuck and I'm proud of that nickname - although I rarely get called that since I moved away to study in Bloem and rarely see those school friends anymore :/

reedOsama is a combination of my surname and 'Sama', a Japanese honorific

Sama (様 【さま】?) is a markedly more respectful version of san. It is used mainly to refer to people much higher in rank than oneself, toward one's guests or customers (e.g., a sports venue announcer addressing members of the audience), and sometimes toward people one greatly admires. When used to refer to oneself, sama expresses extreme arrogance (or self-effacing irony), as with ore-sama (俺様?, "my esteemed self").

Was I being pretentious when I came up with it? Don't think so... just heard it a lot in anime.

On other forums people think it has something to do with Bin Laden, which was kind of annoying since I didn't even think of it like that and I sort of had a flashback through all my posts through the eyes of an extremist/extremist-supporter.

Anyway. That's it :D

I thought the Osama thing too.. and was like :wtf:

Echoriath - LOTR

"The Echoriath formed a natural circle of rock enclosing the valley later called Tumladen, within which lay the Elven city of Gondolin. A hidden ravine provided the only access through the Echoriath a way guarded by seven gates. The Eagles led by Thorondor took residence in a southern part of the mountains called the Crissaegrim and for long kept the spies of Morgoth from discovering the location of Gondolin.

Fingolfin, a High King of the Ñoldor, was buried in the Echoriath north of Gondolin in a great cairn, his body having been taken there by the eagle Thorondor after he was slain in his duel with Morgoth."

My current forum name here is quite easy.

Okuhle = My real name
94 = My year of birth

Sorry, I couldn't think of anymore interesting names that didn't sound corny to me.

congrats! I think that makes you our youngest (active) member! :p

too easy... my name is oltman... unusual enough for people to actually think its a nickname :) sometimes oltman is taken, like oltman.com was taken in the early 90's by a lady selling postcards and stuff. when that happens i revert to baas_oltman, just because i am the boss :)

Goddamn... would never have guessed.

But why name yourself over "encircling mountains"? Just curious.

My name is Sean and the first letter of my surname is "R". So I merely anagramed it and "Snare" was the result :D. Been my gamername since way back

The story of my forum name sucks compared to most of these stories. It goes like this:

I had no nickname. (except the ones my family gave me since child hood days. Which, now that i think about it. i should have used) So i created one right before joining MyGaming

Le end :P

PS: The nicknames my family gave we are MusieMus or Zulupoep xD don't be hatin' :P

PPS: Can i change my forum name?

You can ask James to do it for you, but he's probably going to hate you for it, and it will also annoy everyone else if you do it too often. Just ask Hagan, aka Saint, aka Juvenile, aka Vampothic, aka Haygs, aka whatever else he has called himself in the past. The poor kid has a serious identity crisis.

I cannot explain mine. I logged into MXit chatrooms to look for trouble and that was my name. Been using it since then. So for 6 years now, this has been my online name.

Back to topic lol.

My name, is BeastSD, use to be BeastST, Beast being the name under which I fought when I did semi pro fighting, ST being my Focus ST. So back in the day I merged the 2 names and my car was known as BeastST. When I reluctantly sold my 2008 Electric Orange ST I kinda got a slight bit upset when I saw my name "BeastST", I then decided to change the ST to my Clan initials SD (Sudden Darkness), so I am henceforth known as BeastSD. Real name is Michael though :)

Did paste this in "explain your avatar" but here it is
