Asus GTX680 DCU II 2GB or Gigabyte GTX770 OC 2GB

I have an opportunity to buy either a Asus GTX680 DirectCU II 2GB (the standard baseline) or
a Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 2GB.

I'm deliberating between the two, and have done some serious research and discovered that the GTX770 OC will only be about 10% faster than a basic GTX680, is this true? This is a 22% increase in price, for 10% increase in performance, and what else? GPU Boost 2.0 and a factory-OC card? Maybe a better resale value? Future-proofing?

My system is as follows:
CPU: Core i5 2500K
MB: P8P67-m pro
RAM: 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance
PSU: Corsair GS600 (600W PSU)
Monitor: Basic 23" Samsung LCD at 1920:1080
My old GPU: Asus GTX560 DirectCU (the basic version) - selling it now (does anyone want it?)

Is there a bottleneck here if I get one of these cards?

Here are the links to both cards: (they're both fairly new)
GTX680 DCII 2GB: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX680DC22GD5/
GTX770 OC 2GB: http://www.gigabyte.co.za/products/product-page.aspx?pi...

Bare in mind that the Asus GTX 680 is about 22% cheaper; and is not the TOP card nor an OC card, Its just the basic 2GB DirectCU II.

Which should I go for?

Thanks in advance!

For a little more I can pre-order the PowerColor R 9280X (there is not one review online yet) do you think thats better value than either Nvidia?

I would skip the particular Powercolor card until the PCS+ version is announced. The standard Powercolor R9 280X is a good card but it offers no vrm cooling, and the fans are incredibly loud.

If you want a 280X I recommend looking at this (There is also stock available from Rebeltech)

I am not sure of your budget but if you are willing to wait you can grab yourself one of these

If you have to end up choosing between the Nvidia cards I would opt for the 770.
Also bare in mind that Mantle is just around the corner and it'll give you a considerable boost in games like BF4 with a AMD card.

Thanks for the references. I like the idea of the Gigabyte. It's not badly priced, I'm quite surprised.

I'll be playing BF4. Pre-ordered, so maybe it's in my best interest to get the R9280X. Are you guys considering them?

Personally I am waiting for the R9 290X card (Retail around R9000) but if I wasn't I would def pick up 1 or 2 of the 280X cards.
The gigabyte card has a fantastic cooler, its also a lot quieter than most coolers especially that powercolor card.
That gigabyte card for that price is pretty much unbeatable. Seriously good value for money.

You can call Rebeltech and ask to speak to Alex or Kaleigh to confirm availability. (There should be a few in stock)

take the money you would spend on those GTX's and get any Radeon of the same value. it'll be twice as good!
