Why is it so fekkin difficult to find a home in CPT, or rather as Murph as educated me, in the Boland? Doesn't seem to be anything available...

I have a friend who works for a real estate agency and they won't rip you off when finding a house for you.

She has told me stories of how other estate agencies rip people off BIG TIME when looking for a house.

example. The house is decent and in a family type neighborhood, house would go for R800 000,but they will charge you over R1 million.

Please explain that, makes no sense to me.
My parents own a real estate company and I worked in the real estate industry for 4 years.
The pricing of the property is not in the Agents hands, the agent will give an estimated value and the owner can accept it or choose to list at whatever price they like for that matter.

Well that's what I heard.I'll get further detail into it if I can,I doubt they'll share names and so forth.

Much easier to buy these days than rent ...... we had a torrid time looking for somewhere new to rent but if we wanted to buy (not a fucking chance anyway), it would have been a walk in the park

Thats the way I understand it. The estate agent advises the seller on what he thinks will sell in the area not some unrealistic sum.

Durbanville, Brackenfell or anywhere in that area.

I have family in those areas, they are very nice. There are quite a lot of new housing developments popping up by the Cape Gate side.Which makes it quite ideal for families cause there are some very nice schools there and shopping malls.Everything within a 5-10min drive.
