South Africa's education system is improving: minister

The results of the last national exams show the country's education system is improving following the revision of the curriculum, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said on Wednesday.

"We have weathered the storm and have turned the Titanic around," she said at the start of a two-day curriculum and transformation conference at the University of SA (Unisa), in Pretoria.

There were clear signs of progress.

I beg to differ. I saw the entrance exam to work at a KFC, worse I had to mark those tests. Amazing how a guy with a Matric can't even do basic math like counting circles on a page. Its just shocking what the fail at.

I don't think counting circles counts as "basic math".

They do have to make sure the people can at least count. Not that I'd mind getting 3 pieces with my Streetwise 2, but I'm sure KFC need to stay in business
