Cape Town taxi owner owed R150,000 in fines

A Cape Town taxi owner has 238 outstanding warrants for his arrest and owes more than R150,000 in unpaid fines, The Star newspaper reported on Thursday.

Sibusiso Funisela, whose taxis operated from Nyanga to Wynberg, Table View, and Cape Town, appeared in the Cape Town Traffic Court on Wednesday after being tracked down and arrested, the paper reported.

His taxi drivers tallied up the outstanding warrants of arrests against him with their traffic offences.

yet when i (or any other law abiding Ciz , i made that word up :p ) have one outstanding fine, the fc@kers wanna send me summonses and final Notices :rolleyes:
 
R150,000. Whoa! That's like five years salary. :eek:

Given that Joburg drivers are less obliging to pay their fines, I wonder if there are any here who have wracked up more? I panic when I get a R250 fine.
 
I thought Cape Town's police were better down there, but seems there is bad police everywhere not doing there jobs.
