So my old ps2 got stolen and the insurance insisted on paying out with a "brand new" model ps2. I entend on using it for casual gaming nothing serious, what other alternative entertainment can this dinosaur supply me with? Any cool mods etc.?

Yes please. I'm trying to get all my favourites back into my collection (they stole mine a few years ago). That's definitely high up on the list.

Musica surprisingly has quite a few titles still; GT4, Naruto, DBZ, MGS, Disney/Pixar, FF, GoW and a few others.

Port Elizabeth, I work for Musica (sadly) our store has a bigger selection of PS2 games than PS3 and Xbox put together.

Yeah, you can find PS2 games everywhere. There are a lot of them still doing the rounds. All the online retailers still stock them too.

Yoh! I love my PS2! still got it hooked up and kept neat and tidy. I have a crap ton of games that I have collected since 2003 and I 'd say I play it a few times a year solidly. Actually just started playing Scarface again. Really fun and clever game.

Haha cool, glad to see some people still rocking the pre generation playstations. I managed to find a friend who still has a lot of games from back in the day. Gonna hook the ps2 up in my hostel room to kill some time... like studies doesn't take enough. hahaha

It is good for a paperweight mod. I'd just keep it as a collectible in it's unopened box. Seriously. That'll be worth something in years to come.

Unless some items value drops to zero it will always be worth something, key to be worth a lot of somethings, which I doubt. . .
