Thermal Grease/Paste/Compound

Phoenix Tech stocks the Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra:

LINK

I'm currently using the AS5 and it's kept my temps low, albeit I haven't used any other compound so I can't offer a comparison.

I might just buy one of them to check it out, the problem is the price.
I build machines a lot and I DON'T ever use the stock paste..so it could become quite expensive lol
Might just make use of it on my personal machines.

Myself as well. Built my fair share of machines and never used stock compound. That little tube goes a long way though. A rice-sized blob and let the cooler do the spreading for you.

Except I'm not...just went to the previous page link now...its access to the charts, where my link was the ARTICLE where it discusses how the heat spreads from the die onwards, which itself then links to the CHARTS....so I'm not entirely sure what you're on about :/

EDIT:

Your link: Tom's Hardware > Performance Charts > Cooling - Watercooling > Thermal Compound Charts

My link: Tom's Hardware > Cooling > Cooling Review

I can also vouch for the AS MX-4 . I don't see the dramatic results as the charts, but I can the difference during load.

Used some cooler master nano fusion (some number suffix) grease before -they became plastic-like after a while =/

I was also looking at some Cooler Master X1 (I think that is what it is called). It looks reasonably priced and perform well (Based on those charts)

I recently bought the X1. Can say it was definately an improvement over the other compound i had on before that, but i'm not a MASSIVE overclocker, i just like lower temps (room gets hot). as always, YMMV.

Are you using a stock cooler or after-market? What temperature differences did you get?

Stock cooler on the one pc (AMD Athlon II X3 440), coolermaster cooler on other ( Phenom 1055T) . Stock temp went from around a 32 degree idle to sitting under 20 at idle and never above 40 on load (prime95 = load). Coolermaster one is idling right now at 30, from i think about 35 before. although not sure if "idle" since i got a bunch of shit open :P

mild (between 5%-10%) overclock on both.

Also I know the previous one was done wrong as there wasn't alot of paste on the die when i took cooler off, so as i said, it needed the paste anyway. But I'm happy with noticeable results :)
