For the people with slow internet connections

Hi guys

I recently bought a Power color HD 7950 Boost edition, and I got a Gold Never settle Bundle from AMD.

However, I have a 1Mb/sec line and the games will take forever to download....

How do you fellow slow speeders deal with this problem? Do you simply not download digitally?

If you've got uncapped just leave your computer on. I was digitally downloading games when I still had 384kbps.

I put the downloads on during the night and when im at work I just recently downloaded dc universe which is over 18gb on a 1mb line

Patience young padawan, and don't download digitally. I have a really horrible iBurst modem from 3 years ago with fairly limited cap so I straight up can't download much but if I do.... I learn patience the hard way

Just schedule the Download to run when you are sleeping at night or during the day at work.

I wanted to go digital for the PS4 but downloading 50 Gb's on my line would murder my usage for the month.

I'd just download my stuff at night when everyone was sleeping. You'll get used to that routine very quickly and before you know it, your download is down. You can always think about upgrading to 2MB or 4MB if possible :p

Telkom will be upgrading all the lines again in november so at least your speed will be double in a short while, still its going to take time leaving it running while sleeping and at work as everyone has stated will most likely be the only logical option.

That or find someone who already has the download and copy it from them.

This is why I have just upgraded my line to 2mb so when they upgrade I will get 4mb

That is dependant on the ISP, I was on 512k got a free 1M upgrade then telkom did a 2Mb upgrade but my ISP kept me at 1Mb. My line just synced at 2Mb.

Its purely line speed upgrade I am going to have to upgrade my isp account but if you have a 1mb line telkom is upgrading to 2mb if you have a 2mb telkom is upgrading to 4mb... that has no dependency on the isp

yes but you are still going to have to pay your ISP more to benefit from this upgrade, which is kinda bullshit IMO

How is it bullshit, the line rental prices are in effect just being lowered, which is great. If you were with Telkom as your ISP, you'd still have to pay THEM to increase the actual account. Can't just expect the ISP's to lower their actual prices just because line rental is going down (which we have all been asking for :P)

if telkom can give me a 1mb cicuit at a 2mb's price, why can't my ISP do the same? :D

come now, we all need to work together here

Isp's are constantly dropping their prices the main thing is I wont have to pay r800 or whatever it is for a 4mb line I will be paying what I am now for my 2mb
