MyGaming Steam Community Giveaways

I dunno how to put it in my sig in such a way that it would be replaced by any new giveaway, or otherwise i'd end up with somehting that ended months ago :P

And i did make a post about about it, thought that was enough.

Also new to bundles (BF3 was first time i heard about humble bundle or others) and found out about the "facebook like" a year too late. But if everyone already has it then i guess i cant complain, its why im giving it away, coz its awesome :)
on your GA, just above the comments section you'll see there's a link "Signature", there you'll get a code which you just copy and paste in your sig

You cant, best is to replace your normal sig after the current one is finish manually? I would argue that not everybody read all the posts in this thread so a give away can get lost if only mentioned once, I for one had to go searching to see what you where talking about.

All good, and its only since the 1st THQ bundle last year (the one I still kick myself, every day for missing) that good games started rolling at Humble.

Nonsense, most of the Humble Bundles have been awesome since the very first one, unless you really hate indies for some reason.

Fair enough, guess I thought people had found a way to just automatically have their sigs be whatever they're giving away at the time, but I underestimate people's non-laziness yet again :)

Think I'm gonna cancel my giveaway then, and just possibly gift it globally or maybe on gameminer (but metro doesnt seem to be giveable alone, only as a bundle :/).

Hope its not against the rules to remove a giveaway, and if it is ill return it and let it run its course on 0 entries :P

I really need to investigate these humble bundles you people talk about I always assumed they were just a bunch of indie games put in a pack

talk about wrapping some awesome, quality games in a little bundle and then branding them all with the same fiery iron... not all indie games are equal, and most certainly not all are bad!

you will find MANY indie games of greater quality than so called AAA titles. if you are a gamer of ANY sort, you simply cannot write them all off with "Just not a fan"!

Absolutely this. There are some really top notch indie games out there, some with arguably better gameplay than their AAA counterparts.

They also make a lot more niche games, because they are not afraid of experimenting, unlike the big studios who just release the same games over and over again. That's if you can even call them games anymore. Many of them are just movies where you occasionally get to take part in the action.

Try playing something like Bastion, Torchlight 2 and Hotline Miami, then come back here and tell me you're not a fan of indie games. If you claim that, then I don't know how you can actually call yourself a gamer.

See now this is where my problem comes in. I would not call Torchlight and Bastion dev's, Indie. In my mind Supergiant Games and Runic is a dev houses just like Westwood before EA bought em. Sure they not as big as most AAA houses but its a dev house none the less. Pure indie is the likes of World of Goo (Still not a bad game) and so on.

If you go according to the original name Indie was meant for people that did not use publishers like Steam, EA or 1C to release their games and consisted of 1-4 people in house. Most if not all of them released DRM free games and digital only.

some people just don't get it though, like my flatmate for example. if a game doesn't have eye bleeding photo realistic graphics it's a kak game and he refuses to play it. he won't even play Borderlands because they use cel-shading and that looks kak too...

What about FTL then?

I admit maybe I'm generalising a bit too much when I use the term indie so loosely but generally speaking I hate comical look of games kind of like malices flat mate :p

FTL is pure indie. Small team, with the option to buy derectly from them DRM free. Still a good game just like World of Goo.

I did not say all Indie is crap, just that you will search long and hard to get a good games like FTL for example. For every 1 shining there is hundreds if not thousands that totally suck.
