So, Wednesday?

*Samsung customers in Sub-Sahara Africa can download BBM today from the Samsung Apps store. iPhone and other Android users in Africa will be able to download the app in three days’ time.

Yeah hopefully :)

I still don't get the whole point of this exercise... there is whatsapp, which basically everybody uses. why go through all this effort?

me neither. every crackberry owner I know uses the BBM reason. then I say "but there's whatsapp", then they say "....but BBM" :wtf:

The free internet got me, I was spending close to a R100 for light phone browsing so they BIS was nice but the phone and the user experience is what killed it for me.

but BIS is dead now, and people are still getting these useless bricks

My crapberry's screen broke for the second time and I didn't bother to replace it again, currently using my mom's previous s2, but CellC still sends me the 2gb pm bb update texts which is still more than what the other contracts provide.

Can't wait to get a new phone, still a toss up between 920 and 925 - the 920 is bigger and has wireless charging and comes in funky colours while the 925 is thinner and no wireless charging. . .

Will come down to price but I'm leaning towards 920 - Amber update has made the camera's on both phones equal.

im still waiting for my confirmation e-mail to get my bbm pin.. :(

reason im getting it is Whatsapp sucks... i dont always get notifications that ppl sent me messages and sometimes the messages dont go through or it has but on my side it shows it hasnt. plus the parental units have blackberries still and whatsapp is a mission for them, they prefer BBM

True. There's no real reason why you'd want to go Dingleberry in my opinion unless the whole "unlimited internet" thing is the deciding factor. I think it was more a "status symbol" way back when Bleackberry was just released.

I haven't owned one but most every one of my friends and clients that has one complains about it.

I will however be trying this app out as there are still berry users that refuse to use Whatsapp for some inexplicable reason. Pfff.

"I love my Blackberry! It's awesome and never lets me down!", said nobody ever.

I have never had a issue with whatsapp ever

Hahaha

At least this app gives an easy way out for the Blackberry followers. Buy a real phone, download the app, and wait until all your friends have also got rid of their BB's too.
