This is why I stayed away from this game. As awesome as it is, I just cannot compete with peeps that guy gear. I refuse to buy with micro transactions in game. If I cannot get the gear as a result of me playing well and get an advantage that way, then I just leave the game. That is why I also stayed away from Diablo 3 and GTA V Online. Micro transactions give certain players an unfair advantage in my opinion.

What? Everything I have in PlanetSide 2 is played for. I've not spent a single cent on this game. And I've been playing since the beta. Takes about a day or two to unlock a specific weapon but it's worth it.

We used to have a SA outfit called Grrr but it is inactive and most of the okes went back to BF3,i'm currently playing with TTRO (one of he biggest outfits on ceres).They are usually active around 7PM on weekdays and from 12 in the morning on weekend days.
Although i hate grinding i managed to make 100certs last night within an hour,just love blowing up Zoe's that think they are invincible.

I've reached BR100 and unlocked all the weapons and such just from playing. The default guns for most classes are actually very good with the differences for the ones you unlock being that they are better only in certain situations but not as good in others. Not playing this game because you think those who spend money on it have an unfair advantage is just denying yourself the fun you can have in playing ps2.

I'm the only Grrr Squad member (BF clan) that still plays Planet Side 2. The rest are still held hostage in Origin by EA and suffering from stockholm syndrome playing BF4. I now lead the Red Mist outfit, 150 odd members fighting for the Terran Republic on the Ceres server. We have 9 South Africans in Red Mist now.

You don't really notice the ping difference,just a note that the TTK is extremely long compared to other games.

I was in TTRO, but there were to many kiddies there. So WDUH snatched me up and I left after a while when a bunch of SA guys came together and I started a platoon. Shortly after that that, they went dormant and I left that platoon. Pintle and I are in contact daily, but you can send me an invite if you wish. (Vokker)

This game is awesome. Massive fights like you've never seen before. The fact that you can be fighting 30 v 30 over a base and the enemy suddenly gets 100 reinforcements and crushes your attack in minutes is awesome. You never really know how a fight is going to turn out. The fact that you have to drive/fly/walk to the next base, instead of waiting for the round to end before moving to a new map allows fights to develop in so many different places and ways.
Also everything is done client side, so ping doesnt matter nearly as much as it does in games like Battlefield.
