GOG Fall Insomnia Sale

Better hurry, GOG is having sales and there's limited quantities of games. They put a game on sale with a couple of hundred copies and when those run out the next game goes on sale.

It's pretty cool, except when bad games go on sale. Jack Keane 2 was just on sale for more than 4 hours because nobody wanted to buy it.

Hurry and check it out!

Last night there was awesome games available. Luckly got Don't starve for really cheap. but after that the games went out so fast that the time it took my browser to refresh a new game was already there.

Yeah, I missed a few good deals because of 500 internal server errors. Luckily today it seems the sales have slowed down a bit, so you have a bit more time to respond to them.

I think they might also be asleep right now and like you said some games are really shitty and not even 200 people want to buy the games.
They should maybe put a 2 hour limit on games that does not sell.

also it's impossible to get the free titles in this country. I clicked on three deals immediately after they came on and all said I was too late. I guess its just that extra distance to the servers :(

*Edit - yup just tried it again with Jack Keen. Reus was on sale, waited with finger on the button. Deal switched and before I even had a chance to see what it was or if it was free I clicked and got a screen saying sorry deal has expired. That really sucks. They should at least give it a time limit. ten seconds or something.

I managed to get Planescape Torment for R20 last night. I'm hoping I can catch a Carmageddon discount.

this has got to be one of the strangest sales I've seen so far...

I think it's very clever. They're keeping people glued to their website. They just need to do something about the games that nobody wants staying up there for hours.

yeah maybe put a time limit on it as well

Trippy sale this one. I'm always just to late to get what I want. Also, my budget is getting a proper beating with all the sales going on. :)

Don't think this one is worth much, most if not all of the games have been on sales before. Worse is that I already have all the GOG games I wanted I guess.

I've never seen gog games going for 80% though. Most of their sales cap out at around 66%

A lot of people speculate that there are some scripts involved too.

So my official position is that this is a crappy way to do sales. It was fun for a little while, but unless you sit online all day you don't see any of the good stuff, and there really isn't enough time to find something you haven't heard of and then look it up and see if you think you may enjoy it or not. Some of that stuff was selling out in seconds. I clicked on planescape torment (I think it was) when it still had 100 copies left and it came up with a "sorry this is sold out" notice. Once again, don't even get me started on the free stuff. I hope they have some kind of encore at the end and just list everything for a day or something. This is the first sale I've haven't been able to buy anything, when I had the money and a list of games to throw it at.

That wouldn't surprise me. Also with my little shaped 1mb line, I can't possibly compete, even if it was just the quickest on the trigger. By the time the sorry notice showed up, the next game was almost sold out lol

Try using 3G... on the Cell C network. Free games should be up for a few seconds so more people have a chance.
