I don't mind the activity contests, ya they make for more spam, but they get people posting, and that, I think, is really the point.

That sound system looks pretty awesome. I know Gunnars are nice, I have a pair, so if I do make the cut for the draw and win the Gunnars, then I will let someone else have them

Seriously. Where do you get his from? All I'm reading is your assumption.

Posts = 2 points. There is no weird clause or grand conspiracy.

Also, note that the live leader board isn't up to the second. The points are only fully calculated once per day, around midnight I think. The running scores are more of a guide than a definitive scoreboard (at least on a moment by moment basis).

Don't ask me to explain exactly how the score calculation system functions down to minutiae:

1: I didn't code the system so I don't know this beyond what I can observe in the back-end.
2: That would spoil all the fun we're having arguing about it.

Looks like you are misreading no point in continuing the discussion

Post points are fine and are counting fine, my point is about making your own threads and only giving 2 points overall when it was 10.

Now it sounds like you are complaining that you get the same number of points for posting a thread (2) and for making a regular post (2).

Honestly, I can't remember when (if ever) it was 10 points for creating a thread - perhaps in the very first days of this activity system when we were testing it out.

Making equal the points for posts and thread creation would have been one of the first tweaks I made. It's obvious why this needs to be uniform - to avoid people spamming pointless threads for more points.

There is no limit, but you cannot rep the same person multiple times in a row. There is a "cool-off" period between repping individuals and when you can rep them again. But if you spread the rep around you shouldn't have a problem.
