Gran Turismo 6 Vs Forza Motorsport 5: Next-Gen Graphics Leap Is Obvious

Can can see an immediate difference between the two games track wise Forza just looks way better than GT6(looks kinda plastic) if you know what i mean would have loved to see how the same car looked in split screen

Of course Forza will look better, it's running on more powerful hardware. GT6 is still a current-gen game. Where GT6 will outshine Forza is the content. It has about 1200 cars compared to Forza's about 200 (not 100% sure about Forza's car number though). Reading the comments of that article it also seems that they used an old build of GT6 for the comparison and the retail version should look better, but Forza will obviously still look better. But will it play better?

I also stated a thing about the cars in a previous thread and there was n nice little debate about it but GT6 will be launched for next gen too and i would like to compare the 2 but in the long run i want a bucket load of cars that i don't want to sell my liver kidneys and left lung for that's why i'm still leaning towards a ps4 and GT6

Wlad asks a good question... Will it play better? Yes there are not a huge number of content in the latest version of Forza, and GT6 will have almost every car ever made, but the feeling when playing these two titles will be the deciding factor between them.

It's well known that Forza has amazing physics and the cars handle like you would expect them too. It feels like a proper simulation. GT6 has always been the benchmark for realistic racing, but I'm not sure if it's kept up that we'll with Forza in that regard.

As a car nut I love both these titles, and it's just a pity that they are not available on the same console.

Where did you see GT6 is coming to PS4? Last I saw Yamauchi-san (GT creator) said there will be a GT game on PS4 but it wont be GT6.

ok this is what i got it is in the works/ coming

"A PS4 version of GT6 looks more than likely at some point down the line, and it's something that hasn't been shied away from. Speaking to IGN, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said, "We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now."

Interesting, do you perhaps have a link so I can see when he said that, or know when he said it? Cause I clearly remember him saying it wont be GT6, but this was a few months ago.

This is the age old debate, Forza vs GT. I have only played GT and still need to play Forza. I heard from friends that played both that they prefer Forza for game play and most of my racer fan friends prefer GT over Forza for realism. So each to his own. I am still impressed with what game graphics look like this early on in the next gen generation and it is going to be interesting to see what developers will be dishing up in another 2 years time.

Dampi in my opinion Forza is the better of the 2 also having played both from the very first game, Forza wins hands down in both those categories, realism and game play and i'll have to search for that link again Wlad

Gt lost the plot long ago, all they do is add a million cars and sub par graphics and sell it.
The 1st and 2nd GT were amazing because they had no competition. Forza 3 is where things started to change.

Forza 5 might only have 240 cars but they have all the good stuff, La Ferrari, Mclaren P1 Neither of which will be featured in any GT games because they are exclusively available in Forza 5. a Friend of mine is actually buying a Xbox one and Forza 5 just so he can drive the La Ferrari...lol

Unless they really put the hammer down GT will never catch up to Forza.

yes gt 6 has 1200 cars but about 900 of those cars are low poly models directly ripped from gt 4 that came out 9 years ago ! im more of a quality over quantity type of person.

I'm not saying Forza is a bad game because it has less content and I'm not saying GT6 will be better because it has more, only time will tell which game plays better, which is the most important thing IMO, graphics are secondary. At least you won't have to download a 6GB patch to play GT. :p

Both games have their strengths and weaknesses and both have their respective exclusive cars/tracks and ideally one should play both, I won't actually play either, simulators are not my thing, but I will wait for my brother's verdict on which is better. When it comes to anything car related, I trust his opinion only as he is a HUGE petrolhead. When Forza 4 and GT5 came out he also said Forza was way better in every regard, but he changed his opinion after GT5 got all those big updates which improved the game substantially.

I do agree with this, I'd rather have less cars with detailed interiors than a bunch of cars, 30% of which I'll never drive anyway. That said they have upgraded the visuals on the standard cars so they don't look like they've been ripped from a PS2 and most of the cars have interiors as well.

I see that most of the comments made about Forza are that the game is really good. So good in fact that it leaves you wanting more. For a long time Forza fan, seeing the new cars in their high quality visage, you want to have more and more. More tracks and more cars.

Personally, looking at the car roster of Forza 4, I probably only played with 40% of the cars, the rest I never had a need to drive. The same goes for the track lists. I drove on all of them, but not every time. I had my favourites. The question is now, has Forza managed to ensure the list of tracks and cars in Forza 5 are the cars you really want to race with, and the track are really enjoyable tracks. If they managed to do that, then I see no problem in having less quantity for more quality.

Forza has also come a very long way since the early days of Forza 2. The gameplay is probably the best aspect of what changed over the years.

For me it's a win for Forza. But honestly, choosing between Forza and GT is like choosing between a Filet Mignon with mushroom sauce, or a Filet Mignon with a pepper sauce; both absolutely amazing, it's just comes down to personal taste

Cool, as I said, I haven't really played Forza and come to think of it, when I look back at my GT experience, I was never really excited about the game. I would always go back to the more arcadey type racers like Need for Speed for my racing fix.

I think this a pretty fruitless comparison.

Forza 5 - Only Xbox One
Gran Turismo 6 - Only PS3

Can't compare in my opinion.

I still maintain they are two totally different kettles of fish. I try and explain it as such.

GT is more for the purist as Forza is more the Hardcore. Both games are great at what they do, but of slightly different disciplines.

Im torn between the two. GT or Forza. I want to buy myself a PS3 for GT games yet i also want a Xbox for Forza games. Mixed game reviews are a contributing factor too. Which console should i buy?
